These skis have a perfect shape, flex and width for beginner to intermediate freeskiers. They carve exceptionally well and the wood core and step-down sidewall provide great snap in and out of turns. They would also make a killer terrain park ski with good pop if you aren't into the whole symmetrical shape thing (same dimensions in the tip and tail). At 83mm wide, the Rival is great for all snow conditions and the All Mountain Rocker definitely improves performance in the deep.

This chart provides a range of sizes suffice for skiers based on their height and ability level. Remember, there are lots of different styles of skis these days, so even though the ski fits into your size range, it may not be the ski for you. Use our Ski Selector if you have any doubts or questions, for a more catered list of skis that will make you the best skier on the mountain.

Ideal Target Skier: Progressing Intermediate: This skier is pushing the limits of the intermediate badge, and getting off trail and figuring out how to get comfortable at higher speeds through variable terrain.

UHM Base: A maintenance free durable base. You may want to wax it up for springtime slush, other than that you can concentrate on other things.

Atomic All-Mountain Rocker: 75% camber underfoot, 15% early rise rocker in the tip and 10% tail rocker. 100% Versatility for all skiing conditions from powder to ice moguls.

At L9, there is nothing we love more than offering the best possible deals on ski equipment. These skis are no exception and priced under $200 because well, this kind of deal is our bread and butter.

Hybrid Cap/Sandwich Construction: This ski features Cap construction at the tip and tail for added durability and to reduce topsheet chipping, and has Sandwich constuction underfoot for greater edge hold and power through the turns. Its the best of both worlds.

ABS Sidewall: ABS provides better edge hold than other materials and construction types. It will also withstand impacts with rocks and terrain features (rails, boxes, your friend) more effectively when compared to cap style construction.

Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.

Product Questions

Product Questions

How do these compare against Elan WaveFlex 76? I am a progressing intermediate but go hard and take short turns. I also enjoy bumps and moguls. I have never bought ski's before. Any recommendation.
Do the bindings come mounted to the ski or would I need to have them mounted? Does the ski have a rail mounted system so that they can be easily adjusted or are the bindings physically bound to the ski.
Are these twin tip skis?
Are these skis compatible with the Attack 13 bindings, and if so, what size brakes would be best?
one of the questions was answered that this is a twin tip ski but it doesn't appear that way in the pictures. please confirm if this really is a twin tip? thanks.
What is the difference between these Atomic Rival Plus skis and the Atomic Rival Skis w/XTO 10 Bindings you have listed for $299 (other than the bindings)?

Good for the beginner Review by Mr. P
Hello, I have tried these skis once so far. I skied at Hunter Mt. in NY on the first day of winter. The conditions were groomed runs, hard packed and some ice.

Pros: These skis were nicely priced, are good looking, light weight and flexible. Being brand new they also held a decent edge.

Cons: They sounded hollow and cheap. I heard some rattle over some of the terrain and also saw and felt a little chatter. I used rentals that felt better and held a better edge.

Conclusion: While I need to spend more time with them, my first impression is that these skis are good for the beginner to intermediate skiers but any advanced-intermediate skier or advanced skier should look elsewhere. (Posted on 12/29/2016)
Great all round skiReview by Skier
Serves me well on just about anything. Does well in the park but also well in moguls and fresh. Also carves pretty well on the groomers.
Solid all mountain and park ski. (Posted on 8/7/2016)
Good SkiReview by PDJ
This is a good ski for the price. Perfect all mountain and all condition ski for the advancing intermediate. Surprisingly good edge hold on the hardpack. Pairs well with the Attack 13 bindings in looks and performance. (Posted on 4/14/2016)
Some fine skisReview by Tom
I'm a fairly new skier, and I've taken these out three times now. These skis feel controllable and easy to handle. At first I was nervous about the wide waist, but these skis have a short turning radius and are easy to swing around. I've been on some ice and slush and whatnot, and these skis didn't miss a beat. As a plus, I've already gotten some compliments on their looks. Feel free to pull the trigger. L9 had the bindings mounted and the skis at my house the same week I ordered them. So, go for it! Excellent! Review by JRG
So far I have gotten 5 solid days with these skis and I have nothing negative to report! I have taken them everywhere from tree runs and groomers to the terrain park and have yet to find a place these skis don't perform! Ice, powder, and crud don't seem to phase it either. Currently priced at $200 before bindings, the low price shouldn't scare you, it really is just a great value! I can put my full support behind this ski as one of the best values I have ever purchased. The only question you should be asking yourself is, "Why haven't I bought these skis yet?"
