Atomic Punx III Junior Skis 2016

2 Review(s) | Add Your Review | 1 Question | International Availability
Modeled after the popular Punx park ski, this is a full camber cap construction freestyle ski. At 85mm underfoot, this is a great stick for juniors who want to ski it all. It is wide enough to rip some pow and narrow enough to slide rails in the park. It is pretty stiff flex (compared to other junior skis) so it will stay stable at high speeds and provide some good pop for clearing jumps. We highly recommend this ski for intermediates to expert juniors looking for a all mountain/park ski with tons of versatility.

Free Binding Mounting: We will mount you ski bindings for free whenever you order skis and bindings. If you order boots, too, we can adjust them so they are ready to hit the slopes right out of the box! Just be sure to fill out the mounting form that comes up after checkout.

Ideal Target Skier: All Mountain Park Rider: Skiers that go anywhere on the mountain, and still make trips through the terrain park enough to require twin tips, describe these skiers. They are not afraid to skip park sessions to ski deep powder, but are torn sometimes for their love of hitting rails and jumps in the park.

Cap Construction: The topsheet of this ski drapes over the edge to form a clean and rounded finish to the side of the ski. This style of construction adds some torsional rigidity, and helps reduce topsheet chipping when the skis hit each other.

Atomic All-Mountain Rocker: 75% camber underfoot, 15% early rise rocker in the tip and 10% tail rocker. 100% Versatility for all skiing conditions from powder to ice moguls.

Twin tip skis: are where its at these days. Their versatility allows you to ski powder in the morning, bumps at midday, and session the park in the afternoon. The turned up tail is also optimal for skiing backwards (switch), but for most people, it just looks cool.

We Have Recommended Some Bindings For You: You will notice there is a dropdown menu that says "Ski Bindings" above. These are simply a list of curated bindings we recommend will work best for this particular ski but other bindings will work as well. There are a few factors i.e. brake width, DIN range, ability level that determine an appropriate binding choice, so let us know if you need assistance.

Sweet BoardsReview by WestcoastZ
Bought these for my 13 year-old son. Atomic hit the nail on the head! Truly an all mountain ski, edgy on ice, floaty in pow, poppy in the park and they power through Sierra crud. Bonus awesome look. A great buy for a strong intermediate or advanced skier doin' it all. Thanks L9 for great service as usual! (Posted on 3/22/2016)
Ski tips split first yearReview by Alan
These skis performed great for 2/3 of a season until I discovered they split on the metal edge near the tip and have peeled back 1 - 2 inches on one ski making them unusable. Upon inspecting the second ski a crack is developing in exactly the same spot.

If you are on the longer size of these or other JR skis, I recommend you look at adult skis in that size even though they will be more expensive. The adult skis will have better construction.

I sent the skis back to Level Nine as there are under warranty. Level Nine has been excellent to work with, sending me different skis before the manufacturer approved the warranty claim so we could get out on the snow. (Posted on 3/9/2016)
