For the on-the-go expert, the 2012 Stinger boots are a stiff freeride boot with Atomic's premium Pro Fit Liner included, both of which mean that you'll get a performance fit out of these boots. On the flip side, these boots are fairly wide and comfortable, and come equipped with the very convenient Boa lacing system. We recommend this boot over all others to pair with the Atomic Poacher splitboard (since its so comfy to hike in), or we strongly recommend this boot to all-mountain experts who want a comfy and easy to use boot (but no soft noodlers!).

Atomic Hard Flex Boot: This snowboard boot has a stiff forward flex, which means it was meant for riding hard and fast. Unlike ski boots, even beginners can hop into a stiff snowboard boot and be comfortable, but the ideal rider here is one that wants a tight fit for advanced riding.

Dual Zone Pro Fit Liner: A completely customizable liner ensures that the rider in this boot will get a personal, snug fit. The 3D tongue has denser EVA for increased support on toe-side turns, high-density EVA in the spine gives increased support on heelside turns. Add in dual zone lacing (so you can get a different fit for your instep and shin--great for people with high arches or flat feet), thermal technology (molds to your body heat as you ride), and you have basically a pro-level fit.

4 Component Outsole: An outsole with made of 4 parts gives Atomic the freedom to put extra material in zones where the rider needs high flex and durability, and less material where the rider would prefer less weight and a more casual flex. The overall footprint of this boot is one of the smallest on the market since excess material in toe and heel has been removed.

Boa Lacing Technology: The awesome new setup that removes the only thing that sucks about snowboard boots: the laces.
The Boa system is laced cables of aircraft grade steel (no it doesn't add weight) that take the place of laces in keeping your boots tight. To tighten you simply push in the Boa housing button (to lock it in place), righty tighty turn the dial until you get the snug fit you desire. To remove the boot, you just pop (pull) the housing button and stretch out the tongue.
If it comes into your head how much nice this is at the top of the lifts on a cold day when you need to tighten up the boots, you are right on. We always recommend Boa boots. Competition level riders still require laces because they need to have the boot so tight it cuts off circulation, for the rest of the world the Boa system is the way to go.
