The BD Megawatt is certainly MEGA, measuring at 125mm underfoot with tip and tail rocker. The Megawatt will certainly electrify your whole skiing experience and allow you to bomb through just about anything almost effortlessly. Think of it as the Suburban of skis, its simply unstoppable. It may not be as nimble and quick turning as some of its narrower counterparts, but it makes up for that in powder performance. We recommend the Megawatt to expert skiers looking for a very wide ski who ski aggressively in deep snow and rugged terrain.

This chart provides a range of sizes suffice for skiers based on their height and ability level. Remember, there are lots of different styles of skis these days, so even though the ski fits into your size range, it may not be the ski for you. Free Binding Mounting: We will mount you ski bindings for free whenever you order skis and bindings. If you order boots, too, we can adjust them so they are ready to hit the slopes right out of the box! Just be sure to fill out the mounting form that comes up after checkout.

Secret Stash. You have found the secret stash, home to the best deals on the net, these are the best deals from a website of great deals, insane discounts on products we are trying to move out. These products won't last long so be sure to be quick on the trigger.

Ideal Target Skier: Powder Hound: If you use your sick days only when it snows 12'' or more overnight and not when you're actually sick, this ski is probably for you. Powder Hounds are on the search for deep and untouched powder, and fat skis to ski it with.

Expert Binding Choices: Some of the binding options (i.e. the Head GTO 15) available for this ski have high din ranges that start at 8 or 9. A very small percentage of skiers will be suitable for these bindings. If you know that you usually set your din at 8 or above, you are in the clear for a high din binding. Otherwise, those bindings are for EXPERT SKIERS ONLY!

Skier Ability: Advanced to Expert: Skipping the blue runs to get to the black runs, but sometimes a little cautious when it gets very steep, or some hesitation when your buddy says, ''You just have to clear those rocks or else you're toast.''

Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.

Cap Construction: The topsheet of this ski drapes over the edge to form a clean and rounded finish to the side of the ski. This style of construction adds some torsional rigidity, and helps reduce topsheet chipping when the skis hit each other.

Sintered Base: The material used for the base is harder, and therefore more durable than other options (Extruded). This material should be waxed regularly for best performance.

Tip Rocker: This refers to the early rising of the tip to get the ski on top of the soft snow, rather than pushing through it. When the skis are held with the bases together, it will look like the tips are bent, and spread away from eachother. Tip rocker also helps skiers pivot the skis, making tight trees remarkably easy, and gives the ski a surf-like feel.

Tail Rocker: Just like Tip rocker, but in the tail, this feature allows the tails of the skis to release easier from the turn to give the skier the ability to turn the skis quicker in tight spots. It also allows skiers to dump speed by forcing the tails out and sliding sideways. The effective edge is reduced because of the tail rocker, so the skis will also be easier to control when forced to ski on the groomed slopes.

We Have Recommended Some Bindings For You: You will notice there is a dropdown menu that says "Ski Bindings" above. These are simply a list of curated bindings we recommend will work best for this particular ski but other bindings will work as well. There are a few factors i.e. brake width, DIN range, ability level that determine an appropriate binding choice, so let us know if you need assistance.

3 Choice Mount Position : The three choices are as follows. Park Mount is where the bindings are closer to dead center on the ski and is best for freeride skiers who want to ski switch a lot of the time. Manufacturer's mount is where the makers of the ski recommend you mount the bindings (usually between park and powder mount). Finally Powder mount is the furthest back on the ski which allows for more tip length and float in powder. If you wish to get more technical on where we mount your skis, please contact customer service.

Early Taper: The widest point of sidecut starts tapering earlier in the tip to reduce tail drag and hooking in powder.

Formula One Technology: A three ribbed torsion box construction will help stabilize the ski when its on edge making for a smoother, more solid ride. Removing this extra material also lightens up the ski.

Do the Megawatts not have cutouts on the tail to clip skins to?
Wondering which model year these BD Megawatts are?

Great skiReview by Pow skier
I take 6 months of a year so I will not miss a pow day and I've done this for years. I've been Teli skiing for 20 years and this ski is by far the best powder ever!!! My last pow ski was a full rocker ski which turned easierhowever these have camber which sets me up perfectly for my next face shot. Furthermore I have more control. They could be 10 cm longer but bd and common sense don't gel. No such thing as the perfect ski but we are getting closer. (Posted on 3/28/2016)
These are the best skis that I have ridden in the past five years. They completely destroy powder, making it easy to throw some tricks into a good powder day. Also the way they handle groomers is amazing, they can keep pace with a thinner width and still allow for fun. If you are on the fence for buying these skis just do it. After going through dozens of sets over the years these skis stand out the most, and are by far my favorite. GET THEM! L9 thank you for the sale price, I bless your website overtime I get these bad boys out. (Posted on 11/29/2015)

Happy BirthdayReview by rixmcx
Pros: killer looks, my buddy was floored
Cons: none
Location: Auburn CA
these skies were a late spring gift to a good friend of mine, so I won't know until next year how they ski. Hopefully I won't hear him whine about his skis not being wide enough, these babies are120 underfoot. All the reviews I read on this ski gave it the thumbs up. (Posted on 6/2/2014)
BD MegawattReview by Robster66
Pros: camber and rocker
Cons: make sure you detune the tips.
Location: Queenstown New Zealand
Bought a set of these this winter. Skied Canada for 15 days with mixture of new pow and older hard packed groomers. Incredibly these are great on both! Big fun in the fluffy but can hold a decent GS style turn on the groomers. You will need to bump your binding rating up a bit as they are so wide they have a fair bit of tension on the binding when cranked over. Really great ski, love them. (Posted on 5/13/2014)
