The KR 2 Lupo SP boots are a new boot from Dalbello for the 2014 season. This is Sean Petit's Pro model boot so it was designed to his style of skiing which to summarize in one word: BURLY. The Lupo has a 130 flex and a 98mm last and was built to send cliffs, straight-line chutes and maybe stomp the occasional backcountry booter. The Lupo's key feature though is the new integrated ski/hike mechanism that rear flexibility to the upper cuff for a more comfortable ascent. The Sole of the boot has a rubber clad, heels and toes for more grip while bootpacking. If you are a hard charger who occasionally hops out of bounds, this is the boot for you!

This chart provides a safe comfortable size that most all skiers will be able to use. If you are looking for a true skier's performance fit you may want to size down one half to one full size smaller. For most ski boots, the full (.0) size uses the same shell and liner as the half (.5) size (like, 25.0 and 25.5) and will have almost an identical fit.

Description

Details

98mm last: Forefoot width of 98mm for racing performance, not as concerned about comfort, although modern boots do a great job of keeping their performance boots quite comfortable.

Integrated Ski/Hike : A new, advanced Hike/Ski control combines extended range of hiking or walking motion with solid, sensitive and powerful ski control. Simply just pull the switch out and your hiking like a superstar.

Cabrio Design: Dalbello's critically acclaimed 3-piece design is the cornerstone to their freestyle performance lineup. Cabrio boots secure the foot and lower leg in a comfortable way, with a smooth and progressive forward flex. Cabrio boots are great for helping fight against shin bang, and are easier to put on and take off than comparable (high performance, non-cabrio) boots.

130 Flex Rating: Higher than average stiffness means you should be skiing pretty fast to warrant a boot of this flex.

ID Thermo Intution Liners: ID Thermo liners are the lightest, warmest, and easiest Total Custom Fit inner boots in the world. They are made from 100% Custom Heat Mold-able Ultralon EVA Foam (the good stuff). This liner will improve the response of the boot, transfer energy to the ski more effectively and provide for much better control. Bottom line is these liners are basically THE best you can find.

40mm strap: Super wide strap found on high performance boots. The extra width spreads out the force while skiing and reduces the pressure point on the upper shin.

Micro-adjustable aluminum buckles: These aluminum buckles can be moved to adjust for size, so if the default position of the buckle and the teeth is too wide or too narrow, you can move it until it fits.

Double Canting: Two adjustment bolts, one each side of the ankle, allow for maximum adjustment for leg/knee alignment problems. The canting helps the skis stay flat on the ground while you are still bow-legged or knock-kneed.

Contour 4 Fit Technology: The shell of the boot is designed to be more anatomically correct than any other. Four parts of the foot are crucial in ensuring a close fitting but comfortable boot. The toes, ankles, heel and width of the boot are shaped in a more natural, ergonomic way.

This boot comes with a custom liner that can be heat molded to the exact shape of your foot. Even if it isn't heat molded, with a couple days of skiing, it will start to quickly take shape to the contours of the skier's feet. To get the most out of the liner, we suggest getting them heat molded at a local boot fitting shop, or by viewing the instructions on the 'Videos' tab on this page. The other great benefit of the Intuition liners is the weight savings over the heavy plastic liners found in comparable boots. Less weight=less fatigue=more skiing!

In a few years when you may outgrow the boot you can take this liner to your new high end boot. It is the best liner in the business and people pay boot fitters gobs of money to get them in their boots.

Dynalink by Dalbello: The middle buckle Dynalink boots is an extra big instep closure band that pulls the heel back into the heel pocket. Where some buckles pull your foot towards the footboard of the boot, boots with Dynalink pull your foot towards the heel of the boot. This is nice because it often means you can get an tight fit without constantly banging your toes against the end of the shell.

Dalbello Owner's Manual: This may seem trivial, but Dalbello boots come with the most thorough owner's manual that we've ever seen. They walk you through any and all of the adjustments that each particular boot can make. Thumbs up for the great info, Dalbello!

Product Questions

Product Questions

I have a pair of these and find they are vey upright. I tried a pair of Kr2 Pros out and liked the forward lean better out of the box. Given the walk mode eliminates the forward lean and flex wedges can the Lupo be modified to have more forward lean? How does this boot compare to the K2 Pro and Kr2 Fussion?
