Dynastar prides itself on being based in Chamonix, one of THE most rugged, dangerous but most beautiful ski resorts in the world. The Cham 107 represents all that Chamonix stands for, pushing the boundaries (there really aren't any physical area boundaries in Chamonix) of free-ride skiing. This ski features a five point side-cut with a lot of rocker in the tip, tons of camber underfoot and a narrower pintail so you can really float in the deep snow. They also have a titanal laminate layer that significantly stiffens up the ski for increased power and stability when skiing as fast as possible. We recommend the Cham's for aggressive skiers who are looking for that one ski they can charge down literally any terrain or snow the mountain has to offer.

Details

Titanal sheets: A unique blend of titanium and aluminum that gives extra strength and stiffness to the skis without adding too much weight. Skis with Titanal sheets are typically reserved for advanced to experts, because they require more speed or strength to flex them properly.

Sandwich Construction (SW): SW means that the sides of the skis are a vertical wall rather the the rounded Cap construction forund on most skis. Since none of the skis material needs to be exerting force maintaining shape at the edges, SW skis are stiffer than their Cap counterparts. Most people find SW skis to be damper, that is more glued to the snow, superior at high speed GS turns and top notch at busting through crud or choppy snow.

Tip Rocker: This refers to the early rising of the tip to get the ski on top of the soft snow, rather than pushing through it. When the skis are held with the bases together, it will look like the tips are bent, and spread away from eachother. Tip rocker also helps skiers pivot the skis, making tight trees remarkably easy, and gives the ski a surf-like feel.

Skier Ability: Advanced to Expert: Skipping the blue runs to get to the black runs, but sometimes a little cautious when it gets very steep, or some hesitation when your buddy says, ''You just have to clear those rocks or else you're toast.''

Ideal Target Skier: Big Mountain Charger: Top speed, all the time, regardless of terrain, obstacles or children in the way, these skiers need stability on par with professional downhill racers. They are usually looking for long skis that are wide and heavy.

Secret Stash. You have found the secret stash, home to the best deals on the net, these are the best deals from a website of great deals, insane discounts on products we are trying to move out. These products won't last long so be sure to be quick on the trigger.

5 point Sidecut: This ski combines tapering sidecuts in the tip and tail with traditional sidecut underfoot that prevents hooking and overturning in deep snow.

Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.

Extra Durable ABS Sidewalls: Because extra durability is never bad, right? RIGHT?!?!?!

Expert Binding Choices: Some of the binding options (i.e. the Head GTO 15) available for this ski have high din ranges that start at 8 or 9. A very small percentage of skiers will be suitable for these bindings. If you know that you usually set your din at 8 or above, you are in the clear for a high din binding. Otherwise, those bindings are for EXPERT SKIERS ONLY!

We Have Recommended Some Bindings For You: You will notice there is a dropdown menu that says "Ski Bindings" above. These are simply a list of curated bindings we recommend will work best for this particular ski but other bindings will work as well. There are a few factors i.e. brake width, DIN range, ability level that determine an appropriate binding choice, so let us know if you need assistance.

Great ski that can do it all. Newer 2.0 version is lighter than this model but for the price that L9 had these going for no wonder they are out of stock. I agree with Cham-wow, does a nice job on the groomer for such a wide ski. Have not had it in the deep powder yet but skied the crud well. I put a Marker AT binding on and it has been loads of fun. I don't know how these skis work yet. Two days after ordering them, I tore my ACL. Now they are mounted, leaning against my wall in the living room. They sure look nice though! (Posted on 12/28/2015)

I heard someone else use Cham-wow to describe these and I have to agree 100%. I picked these up from L9 a few months ago for dirt cheap and was finally able to take them out. Just a great all around ski. There isn't much it can't do. 1st day was groomers and hard pack and I was surprised how well this ski performed. Easy to get on edge, no chatter and no speed limit. Pretty fun carving for a ski that is 107 under foot. The next few days were in powder and crud and the Chams were flawless. Effortless in deep powder and absolutely destroy crud. I've read other reviews that say the tail is "hooky" and I did notice that a little the first day but haven't noticed it since. Stay out of the back seat and you will be rewarded. The more I ski these, the more I like them. L9 appears to be out of stock but I have seen these around at other shops for a great price. At $249 these are a steal. (Posted on 12/21/2015)
