The Amphibio 12's, are fast, extremely versatile, and surprisingly accessible for such a technologically packed ski. At 74mm underfoot, this ski will be a great everyday resort ski; totally content with carving hardpack all day if that what there is, but floaty enough for some powder, sturdy enough for some crud and nimble enough for some bumps. Take a look at the tech details lower down on the page, this ski has a bunch of technologies that we don't have room for in this blurb. The ELX 11 Fusion binding comes included with a DIN range from 3-11 and is adjustable to most adult boot sizes 265-380mm.

Free Binding Mounting: We will mount you ski bindings for free whenever you order skis and bindings. If you order boots, too, we can adjust them so they are ready to hit the slopes right out of the box! Just be sure to fill out the mounting form that comes up after checkout.

Ideal Target Skier: Weekend Warrior/Charger: These skiers were once upon a time ski bums, or very proficient skiers in college, then landed an internship that led to a 70 hour work week and a spouse and 2.5 kids. They are still great skiers, and ski hard every chance they get on steeps, moguls, powder... whatever they can get their hands on.

ELX 11 Binding Included: These skis come with an Elan ELX 11.0 binding included. The ELX is a fusion binding that utilizes a secure sizing mechanism that locks into place, preventing the bindings from sliding out of place. These bindings will compliment your Amphibio ski quite well. The din range goes from 3-11 and is adjustable to almost any boot size.

Metal Tip Protectors: These skis have rugged tip protectors made of metal that will help fight against chipping and damage to the tips, which is both a performance and cosmetic benefit.

Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.

Sandwich Construction (SW): SW means that the sides of the skis are a vertical wall rather the the rounded Cap construction forund on most skis. Since none of the skis material needs to be exerting force maintaining shape at the edges, SW skis are stiffer than their Cap counterparts. Most people find SW skis to be damper, that is more glued to the snow, superior at high speed GS turns and top notch at busting through crud or choppy snow.

Waveflex Technology: Elan's Waveflex is literally waves bored out of the core of the ski, you can see and feel the topsheet has a wave-like texture. The purpose of these waves is to provide a harmonious flex pattern throughout the ski, and lightens up the overall weight of the ski without giving up torsional rigidity.

Amphibio Rocker Technology: Elan's Amphibio Rocker is a groundbreaking design, wherein the edge of the outside ski has a stable flat camber, great for holding edges on hardpack; and the edge of the inside ski is rockered in both the tip and tail, giving it a more surfy, easy and playful feel. The purpose of this technology is to give you a ski that is extremely fast and stable on hardpack without being painfully difficult to maneuver, as well as giving the outside edges a nice surfy feel when making turns in soft snow.

RST Sidewalls: Very thick, durable and strong sidewalls will help the skier maintain power through turns and through a variety of snow conditions.

Textured Surface: Ideal for repelling wear and tear on the skis surface. Textured ski surfaces (aka snakeskin topsheet) are rough surfaces to the ski that hide or repel scratches keep your skis look new long after they are not. Originally designed for rental skis for obvious reasons, this surface is now available on a wide variety of retail skis as well since everyone likes their skis to look nice.

Titanium Layer: A thin, but strong layer of Titanium sits under the topsheet of this ski. Not only does it make the ski stronger, it keeps it lighter than other metals, and also creates a dampening effect for the ski. This means it rides smoother over bumpy terrain.

Right and Left Ski : Since this ski features Amphibio Rocker (explained above) these skis have a designated right and left that is labeled above the toe piece to ensure the skis do their intended job effectively.

Great hardpack carversReview by AmyO

These skis perfectly fit the purpose I needed, to carve securely on the hard icy slopes of Turoa, New Zealand. They are very stiff and hold an edge beautifully, nimble for crud, some bumps, varied terrain. Easy to handle and stable at high speeds. These are a men's model with one layer of titanium and are perfect for me as a small aggressive female skier. The bindings are excellent too. I might add that incredibly they arrived from Utah to Ohakune, the small ski village at the Turoa volcano, in just three days. Amazing! (Posted on 8/23/2016)
