Description

Details

Elan's Amphibio 80 Ti skis let you bomb hills, and throw some turns in for good measure if you are so inclined. Actually, you are likely to be quite partial to making lots of turns with these skis. They've basically taken the shape of a slalom race ski, and inflated the whole thing to give it all-mountain capabilities. It is, therefore, a competent off-piste ski on hardpack. On groomed runs, however, is where this ski really shines. Though you don't need to go blazingly fast to see what this ski can do, you unlock its true potential when blasting full speed. That is because a layer of titanium sits amid fiber glass composite to soak up vibration that high speeds would otherwise induce. Calming that vibration means you will have confidence inspiring grip that allows you to lay the skis far over on edge to explore the full potential of their tight turn radius. Intermediate or expert, anyone will enjoy the thrill of linking up turns on the these Amphibio 80 Ti's all over the mountain.

Integrated ELX 12.0 Binding: : These skis come with an Elan ELX 12.0 binding included. The ELX is a fusion binding that utilizes a secure sizing mechanism that locks into place, preventing the bindings from sliding out of place. These bindings will compliment your Amphibio ski quite well. The din range goes from 3.5-12 and is adjustable to almost any boot size.

Double Titanal Layering: This ski features two layers of Titanal metal alloy, one just above the base, one just below the topsheet. This gives the ski extra stiffness and strength while creating a dampening, or shock absorbing, effect to the ski. This is usually found in the highest grade of racing and competition level freeride skis.

Ideal Target Skier: Weekend Warrior/Charger: These skiers were once upon a time ski bums, or very proficient skiers in college, then landed an internship that led to a 70 hour work week and a spouse and 2.5 kids. They are still great skiers, and ski hard every chance they get on steeps, moguls, powder... whatever they can get their hands on.

Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.

Sandwich Construction (SW): SW means that the sides of the skis are a vertical wall rather the the rounded Cap construction forund on most skis. Since none of the skis material needs to be exerting force maintaining shape at the edges, SW skis are stiffer than their Cap counterparts. Most people find SW skis to be damper, that is more glued to the snow, superior at high speed GS turns and top notch at busting through crud or choppy snow.

Amphibio Rocker Technology: Elan's Amphibio Rocker is a groundbreaking design, wherein the edge of the outside ski has a stable flat camber, great for holding edges on hardpack; and the edge of the inside ski is rockered in both the tip and tail, giving it a more surfy, easy and playful feel. The purpose of this technology is to give you a ski that is extremely fast and stable on hardpack without being painfully difficult to maneuver, as well as giving the outside edges a nice surfy feel when making turns in soft snow.

Waveflex Technology: Elan's Waveflex is literally waves bored out of the core of the ski, you can see and feel the topsheet has a wave-like texture. The purpose of these waves is to provide a harmonious flex pattern throughout the ski, and lightens up the overall weight of the ski without giving up torsional rigidity.

RST Sidewalls: Very thick, durable and strong sidewalls will help the skier maintain power through turns and through a variety of snow conditions.
