The Amphibio XTi 82's, are stiff, fast, extremely versatile, and surprisingly accessible for such a technologically packed ski. At 82mm underfoot, this ski will be a great everyday resort ski; totally content with carving hardpack all day if that what there is, but floaty enough for some powder, sturdy enough for some crud and nimble enough for some bumps. Take a look at the tech details lower down on the page, this ski has a bunch of new technologies that we don't have room for in this blurb!

This chart provides a range of sizes suffice for skiers based on their height and ability level. Free Binding Mounting: We will mount you ski bindings for free whenever you order skis and bindings. If you order boots, too, we can adjust them so they are ready to hit the slopes right out of the box! Just be sure to fill out the mounting form that comes up after checkout.

SST Sidewall Construction: SST construction combines the durability and rigidness of cap construction with sidewall construction for more power and edge grip to form a unique hybrid sidewall design.

Waveflex Technology: Elan's Waveflex is literally waves bored out of the core of the ski, you can see and feel the topsheet has a wave-like texture. The purpose of these waves is to provide a harmonious flex pattern throughout the ski, and lightens up the overall weight of the ski without giving up torsional rigidity.

Ideal Target Skier: Weekend Warrior/Charger: These skiers were once upon a time ski bums, or very proficient skiers in college, then landed an internship that led to a 70 hour work week and a spouse and 2.5 kids. They are still great skiers, and ski hard every chance they get on steeps, moguls, powder... whatever they can get their hands on.

Expert Binding Choices: Some of the binding options (i.e. the Head GTO 15) available for this ski have high din ranges that start at 8 or 9. A very small percentage of skiers will be suitable for these bindings. If you know that you usually set your din at 8 or above, you are in the clear for a high din binding. Otherwise, those bindings are for EXPERT SKIERS ONLY!

Amphibio Rocker Technology: Elan's Amphibio Rocker is a groundbreaking design, wherein the edge of the outside ski has a stable flat camber, great for holding edges on hardpack; and the edge of the inside ski is rockered in both the tip and tail, giving it a more surfy, easy and playful feel. The purpose of this technology is to give you a ski that is extremely fast and stable on hardpack without being painfully difficult to maneuver, as well as giving the outside edges a nice surfy feel when making turns in soft snow.

Metal Tip Protectors: These skis have rugged tip protectors made of metal that will help fight against chipping and damage to the tips, which is both a performance and cosmetic benefit.

Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.

Double Titanal Layering: This ski features two layers of Titanal metal alloy, one just above the base, one just below the topsheet. This gives the ski extra stiffness and strength while creating a dampening, or shock absorbing, effect to the ski. This is usually found in the highest grade of racing and competition level freeride skis.

Right and Left Ski : Since this ski features Amphibio Rocker (explained above) these skis have a designated right and left that is labeled above the toe piece to ensure the skis do their intended job effectively.

Hi, Looking at a pair of the 2015 Amphibio 88 XTI. Is there any difference in the ski's performance between say the black/green and the black/orange

Tele carverReview by Byrnsey
Have mounted this with NTN Freeride for Tele. Has hit the mark as in bound all mountain ski for Australian conditions (think US East Coast). Great high speed stability and love the energy of the ski. (Posted on 8/4/2016)
Sports car handlingReview by Lindsay
These skis are like a sports car with fantastic handling they are stiff and easy to control, a great all mountain ski, I just love them. They made my other 3 year old skis feel like fence palings.

Great job Level 9 on the super quick delivery. (Posted on 7/25/2016)
They will make you smileReview by Chad
6' 190lbs and ski anything (but bumps) on mtn fast - 182cm length. Bought these to complete my (3) ski quiver (82, 104, 121 under foot) and I'm also spending a lot of time on the blue groomers with the kids these days.

First off... these skis look bad-ass outta the box. I have 4 days on them now with spring corn conditions and groomers in the Tahoe/Truckee area. I wanted a ski that could carve deep trenches when asked, but still able to handle off piste corn or crud. Happy to say this ski performed really well for me in both. First day was off piste corn/crud and never had the urge to get my everyday 104's since the amphibios were so lively and fun. I'm thinking I really missed a full length camber edge and the pop it sends back in a quick turn. Get in the back seat and they will buck you off.

Put a couple days on piste too. Not sure if it's the rocker on the outside, but these skis are not "hooky" in the turn like my old 2001ish carving skis. It took about 4 runs on the groomers to find this ski. Once I got locked in they really made me smile on the carve... and yes I know the difference between a carve and a turn. They are definitely on the longer carve side and high speeds are your friend. With that said, I would put them in the "kiddie killer" category. You better have lots of open space around you when you're laying trench.
