The Elan Amphibio Spectrum 105 is a notable choice for those skiers who want their skis to perform equally well in 6 inches of powder as it does on a freshly groomed cruiser run. This ski is 105mm in the waist which has become a sought after width among skiers on the west coast or at least in Utah (where we live). This versatile waist width combined with Amphibio "Twisted" Rocker delivers unparalleled performance on both hard pack and soft snow. This ski makes for an excellent everyday ski for the resort or would act as an easy-turning, lightweight backcountry touring ski.

Free Binding Mounting: We will mount you ski bindings for free whenever you order skis and bindings. If you order boots, too, we can adjust them so they are ready to hit the slopes right out of the box! Just be sure to fill out the mounting form that comes up after checkout.

Metal Tip Protectors: These skis have rugged tip protectors made of metal that will help fight against chipping and damage to the tips, which is both a performance and cosmetic benefit.

Fiber Tech Wrap: A fiberglass network that surrounds the core of the ski. This technology helps the ski flex evenly, creating a smooth, effortless turn.

Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.

Amphibio Rocker Technology: Elan's Amphibio Rocker is a groundbreaking design, wherein the edge of the outside ski has a stable flat camber, great for holding edges on hardpack; and the edge of the inside ski is rockered in both the tip and tail, giving it a more surfy, easy and playful feel. The purpose of this technology is to give you a ski that is extremely fast and stable on hardpack without being painfully difficult to maneuver, as well as giving the outside edges a nice surfy feel when making turns in soft snow.

Ideal Target Skier: Weekend Warrior/Charger: These skiers were once upon a time ski bums, or very proficient skiers in college, then landed an internship that led to a 70 hour work week and a spouse and 2.5 kids. They are still great skiers, and ski hard every chance they get on steeps, moguls, powder... whatever they can get their hands on.

Expert Binding Choices: Some of the binding options (i.e. the Head GTO 15) available for this ski have high din ranges that start at 8 or 9. A very small percentage of skiers will be suitable for these bindings. If you know that you usually set your din at 8 or above, you are in the clear for a high din binding. Otherwise, those bindings are for EXPERT SKIERS ONLY!

SST Sidewall Construction: SST construction combines the durability and rigidness of cap construction with sidewall construction for more power and edge grip to form a unique hybrid sidewall design.

Right and Left Ski : Since this ski features Amphibio Rocker (explained above) these skis have a designated right and left that is labeled above the toe piece to ensure the skis do their intended job effectively.

Product Questions

What's the difference between the Spectrum and Spectrum Alu as far as how the ski handles (Stability, speed, ease of turning, etc.)?

Is this ski geared toward a less or more experienced skier than the Alu version?

Lightweight?Review by Luke
Maybe, if you're used to skiing 120's or better. I have a pair of these and even with lightweight bindings to me they feel like boat anchors after skiing my usual Wateas. I don't take them on Western trips -too heavy, can put little else in the bag! Still I do admit they perform well in the 4 to 2 inch monster powder hits we get here in the East, yet you can still easily carve groomers at high speed. For 4 hours. Not 8. if I had it to do over again I would buy the 95's , especially for eastern skiing. (Posted on 5/5/2016)
Fantastic Review by ExcitedSoul
I demoed a lot of skis before deciding on the Elan Spectrum 105.
So easy to turn. Playful slippery tails. Great carving tips that don't flap at speed. Great crud eating ability. My straight-line speed increased with these skis. Long radius carves are excellent while still being able squiggle down mogul runs.
Just get them. You won't be disappointed (Posted on 2/28/2016)
