The Silver Cat Package boasts some high quality gear and a low price. The 74mm wide Erbacher Silver Cat (made in the Elan Skis Factory) is a perfect ski for intermediate to advanced skiers primarily on groomed runs. The Silver Cat is a bit more advanced than the Blue Cat since it is stiffer and has a step down sidewall construction that creates a better response from the ski. The insanely comfy Dalbello Prime boot is included and it's a great choice with enough support for intermediate skiers. This ski comes with a Tyrolia SX 7.5 which rounds out this package perfectly.

Ski poles are your friends. They help you maintain proper form and balance, as well as help you get across the flat spots. The only people that shouldn't use poles are kids that cannot parallel yet, true beginners, snowboarders, and park skiers that desperately need to look like snowboarders. So if you aren't one of these categories, you should be using poles.
Sizing poles is easy. Just use the ski pole Sizing chart to give you a good estimate of what length of poles you should be using.
Ideally, your arm should be parallel to the ground when you grasp the pole (with the tip up) below the basket.

There are cases when you can go longer or shorter than what the chart recommends:

  • If you are a bump skier, you should size down 2-8 inches.
  • If you want an aggressive stance for steeps and higher speed skiing, size down 2 inches.
  • If you are doing a lot of park skiing, size down 2-6 inches
  • If you Telemark, size down 2-6 inches
  • If you are powder skiing a lot, size up 2 inches.
  • If you are ski jousting, size up 4-12 inches

We have thousands of poles to choose from, and if we don't have your size, any of our poles are easy to cut to length.

Free Binding Mounting: We will mount you ski bindings for free whenever you order skis and bindings. If you order boots, too, we can adjust them so they are ready to hit the slopes right out of the box! Just be sure to fill out the mounting form that comes up after checkout.

Ideal Target Skier: Progressing Intermediate: This skier is pushing the limits of the intermediate badge, and getting off trail and figuring out how to get comfortable at higher speeds through variable terrain.

Speed: Moderate: The speed at which an intermediate skier travels, Moderate means they like to ski faster than beginners, but are never the fastest skiers on a run.

Mondo Half and Whole Sizes: There is no fit difference between half and whole mondo sizes. So, a man who wears a size 9 or 9.5 US shoe size can choose a size 27.0 or 27.5. Some of our boots are only available in the half size, don't be alarmed, just remember they are the same size so you can select either one worry free.

Early Rise: Somewhere between rocker and traditional sits the Early Rise. This helps the tip of the ski get up in softer snow, and still maintains good edge grip and firm snow performance.

Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.

Sintered Base: The material used for the base is harder, and therefore more durable than other options (Extruded). This material should be waxed regularly for best performance.

Hybrid Cap/Sandwich Construction: This ski features Cap construction at the tip and tail for added durability and to reduce topsheet chipping, and has Sandwich constuction underfoot for greater edge hold and power through the turns. Its the best of both worlds.

What is Erbacher?: The Erbacher skis name has been around since the 60's and has stuck around on and off at least in Europe since then. Well, Erbacher is now available from your friends at L9! These skis specifically were made in the Elan factory in Slovenia which basically means that your getting a high quality, durable product that was built with care.

Product Questions

How wide fitting are the Dalbello boots? I am a 27.5 in Rossignol boots. How do they compare ?
6
I'm usually an 8.5 and in a ski shop today I tried on Head 24.5, which unfortunately you don't carry in that size. What size do you recommend for the Dalbello Ultra 6? I am afraid 24.5 will be too small.
1
Do the bindings come pre mounted on the skis, or do you have to go to a ski technician to get them installed
-2
Can I get this package with boots size 24.5? I am a size 7 foot and don't see this choice in drop down? Also, I am comparing this to the Head Mya 3 package. I am an intermediate skier. Which one would you recommend if choosing between these two?
-5
Are they suitable For a 11 year old, 155cm, 95lb child, advanced skier

Great skisReview by allison

I bought these skis at the end of the ski season last year. I only got to use them once and I loved them. They were stable, quick in turns and faster than the entry level skis I was used to . I was very pleased and by the end of the day my confidence in my skiing had gone up. The only negative is I wish they had a guard on the front tip. (Posted on 12/7/2015)

Great set of skis. I have had no problems with them. Everything fit me great and was adjusted correctly. So far I have no abnormal wear and tear happening (Posted on 3/10/2015)
Boots were a little snugReview by Michigan winter

Boots were a little snug and there is rust starting to form along the edges. Overall, we were happy that everything came as quickly as it did and everything was ready to go straight out of the package. (Posted on 1/31/2015)
