The Firefly Blackburn 90 is a veritable Swiss Army Knife of a ski. It is wide enough to give float in powder, and narrow enough to lay down trenches on groomers. Its versatile profile would even make a good touring ski if you are looking to put together a touring set-up on a budget. Though they are advertised as having early rise rocker, the camber profile is a more traditional one that will give explosive exits from each turn and firm edge grip in the next. With dimensions that truly can do it all, this ski has a place under every skier's feet.

Details

Free Binding Mounting: We will mount you ski bindings for free whenever you order skis and bindings. If you order boots, too, we can adjust them so they are ready to hit the slopes right out of the box! Just be sure to fill out the mounting form that comes up after checkout.

Ideal Target Skier: All Mountain Park Rider: Skiers that go anywhere on the mountain, and still make trips through the terrain park enough to require twin tips, describe these skiers. They are not afraid to skip park sessions to ski deep powder, but are torn sometimes for their love of hitting rails and jumps in the park.

Skier Ability: Intermediate to Advanced: Sometimes these skiers are intermediate, and on a good day, they are advanced, but hard to commit to one level. They can ski most places on the mountain, sometimes with a little difficulty, but always making it down without crying and calling ski patrol.

Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.

Cap Construction: The topsheet of this ski drapes over the edge to form a clean and rounded finish to the side of the ski. This style of construction adds some torsional rigidity, and helps reduce topsheet chipping when the skis hit each other.

Sintered Base: The material used for the base is harder, and therefore more durable than other options (Extruded). This material should be waxed regularly for best performance.

Textured Surface: Ideal for repelling wear and tear on the skis surface. Textured ski surfaces (aka snakeskin topsheet) are rough surfaces to the ski that hide or repel scratches keep your skis look new long after they are not. Originally designed for rental skis for obvious reasons, this surface is now available on a wide variety of retail skis as well since everyone likes their skis to look nice.

How does this ski compare to the Elan Apex? It seems very similar, except it doesn't have metal in it.
