If you love to get your sweat on by going uphill on your skis into the backcountry, well there is no better boot out there for you than the Fischer Transalp W TS Vacuum Boot (this is the same as the Men's Version just white instead of green). This three-buckle beauty is a full-on touring specific boot complete with tech inserts for Dynafit bindings, a hike/ride switch for easy ascending and a grippy sole for traction on ice and snow. The Transalp also features Vacuum Fit Technology where the Shell AND liner can mold exactly to your feet via a Vacuum Fit Station at a local ski shop (or at L9 of course). The last of the boot out of the box is around 102mm and can be skied without molding with no problem at all. The Vacuum Fit is not necessary but will certainly enhance the fit of the boot. This boot is significantly lightweight and will get you up and down the mountain with ease and comfort. No matter how hard you look, you won't find a touring boot with jam packed with this much technology at such a low L9 price.

This chart provides a safe comfortable size that most all skiers will be able to use. If you are looking for a true skier's performance fit you may want to size down one half to one full size smaller. For most ski boots, the full (.0) size uses the same shell and liner as the half (.5) size (like, 25.0 and 25.5) and will have almost an identical fit.

Details

Vacuum Fit Not Required: This boot sports Fischer's Vacuum Fit Technology and there is the option of going through the molding process at a local Fischer dealer for a fee or we can mold the boots for free if you come to our SLC store. However, the boots can be skied right out of the box without hindering any performance or fit. Of course, the Vacuum fit is great, but if you slip the boot on and it feels good, then go ski it!

100 Flex Rating: This boot is pretty stiff, but not insanely stiff. A boot of this level is pretty good for upper-intermediate to expert level weekend warrior that is looking for something stiff enough to provide high-end response, while being wearable for an entire day of skiing.

Fischer Vacuum Fit System: This proprietary heat molding system from Fischer allows skiers to get a 100% guaranteed fit by molding the shell and liner in just 20 minutes at a certified Fischer Dealer. The process uses heat, cooling pads, air pressure and a special Vacuum Fit Stand that ensures a precise fit for the entire boot.

Find a Vacuum Fit Dealer: Follow to locate the closest Fischer Vacuum Fit dealer that will be able to mold your boots you purchased from L9.

97-107mm Last: Right out of the box, this boot has a 103mm last which offers a comfortable, high volume fit out of the box. Through the Vacuum Fit Process, the shell can mold between 97-107mm depending on your foot width. This mold-ability opens this boot up a much wider range of foot widths than ever before.

Seamless Slider: Smooth material on the inside back of the liner to help the foot slide in and out of the boot with less effort.

Vibram Pads: This boot features Vibram rubber soles or grip pads in the heel and toe for added security while traversing the formidable parking lot.

Tongue Pull: A loop of fabric at the top of the tongue helps in putting on and removing the boots. Pull it forward and to the side and your foot should slide right in.

Full Thermo Fit Liner: Body heat activates the material in this liner to shape to the skier's foot faster than a standard liner. The insulation also has heat reflective properties to keep the warm in, and the cold out.

40mm strap: Super wide strap found on high performance boots. The extra width spreads out the force while skiing and reduces the pressure point on the upper shin.

Micro-adjustable aluminum buckles: These aluminum buckles can be moved to adjust for size, so if the default position of the buckle and the teeth is too wide or too narrow, you can move it until it fits.

Replaceable Toe and Heel Pads: This is a must-have for skiers that don't live in ski in/ski out condos. When your ski tech tells you that you have to buy new boots because the soles are worn down too much, just laugh at him and tell him to order you a new set of sole plates.

SOMA-Tec: The positioning of the feet in a SOMA boot is in a natural 'V' shape, with the toes pointed slightly outward, and the heels slightly inward. This positioning puts the skier's center of gravity over the middle of the ski for better control and edging power. This design also creates less stress on the knee and ankle joints.

Hike/Ride Lock: A two lever switch located on the rear of the boot enables the skier to switch between three modes Hike, Ride and Lock. Hike offers maximum freedom of motion in the cuff for easy walking. "Ride" is the in between while "Lock" is downhill race performance.

Motion Support Liner: A pivot point on the liner cuff where the ankle is increases freedom of movement when required backwards and forwards for easier walking, on ski tours and also on slopes.

Full Custom Thermo Toebox: The elastic toebox in special neoprene and lycra offers better warmth insulation and ideal fitting for the individual forefoot width.

Ultralon Heel/Ankle Padding: Perfect heel fit and direct power transfer through the thermo-adjustment of the ankle padding. This material is ideal for the Vacuum Fit process and ensures a comfortable, snug fit in the heel of the boot.
