The Fischer Ranger 106 Ti is a highly versatile 106mm waisted ski designed with touring in mind. The Ranger 106 is very lightweight and can crush powder and crud with ease since its got some pretty significant rocker in the tips. The Ti layer is a two pronged feature in that is simultaneously lightens and stiffens the ski at the same time. This ski can hold up at high speeds and can turn on a dime. Grab some Ranger Touring boots, Toss some touring bindings on there and some skins and you'll have yourself a killer all-country set up ready to attack the hill at any time. This is a whole lot of ski for a low price so make sure to spread the word to your ski buddies.

Free Binding Mounting: We will mount you ski bindings for free whenever you order skis and bindings. If you order boots, too, we can adjust them so they are ready to hit the slopes right out of the box! Just be sure to fill out the mounting form that comes up after checkout.

Expert Binding Choices: Some of the binding options (i.e. the Head GTO 15) available for this ski have high din ranges that start at 8 or 9. A very small percentage of skiers will be suitable for these bindings. If you know that you usually set your din at 8 or above, you are in the clear for a high din binding. Otherwise, those bindings are for EXPERT SKIERS ONLY!

Skier Ability: Advanced to Expert: Skipping the blue runs to get to the black runs, but sometimes a little cautious when it gets very steep, or some hesitation when your buddy says, ''You just have to clear those rocks or else you're toast.''

Ideal Target Skier: West Coast All Mountain Skier: Skiers on the west coast will enjoy this ski as an all mountain, do everything model, while skiers on the east coast will find this more suitable for powder skiing, or when there is chopped up crud to be had.

Sandwich Construction (SW): SW means that the sides of the skis are a vertical wall rather the the rounded Cap construction forund on most skis. Since none of the skis material needs to be exerting force maintaining shape at the edges, SW skis are stiffer than their Cap counterparts. Most people find SW skis to be damper, that is more glued to the snow, superior at high speed GS turns and top notch at busting through crud or choppy snow.

Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.

Sintered Base: The material used for the base is harder, and therefore more durable than other options (Extruded). This material should be waxed regularly for best performance.

Titanium Layer: A thin, but strong layer of Titanium sits under the topsheet of this ski. Not only does it make the ski stronger, it keeps it lighter than other metals, and also creates a dampening effect for the ski. This means it rides smoother over bumpy terrain.

Air Carbon Ti: The core of this ski is made up of a lightweight mix of Air carbon and titanium. Fischer says its guarantees easier handling. We say it lightens up the ski without loosing the good characteristics of heavy, high performance skis.

Tip Rocker: This refers to the early rising of the tip to get the ski on top of the soft snow, rather than pushing through it. When the skis are held with the bases together, it will look like the tips are bent, and spread away from eachother. Tip rocker also helps skiers pivot the skis, making tight trees remarkably easy, and gives the ski a surf-like feel.

We Have Recommended Some Bindings For You: You will notice there is a dropdown menu that says "Ski Bindings" above. These are simply a list of curated bindings we recommend will work best for this particular ski but other bindings will work as well. There are a few factors i.e. brake width, DIN range, ability level that determine an appropriate binding choice, so let us know if you need assistance.

AirTec Ti Construction: The Air Tec wood core has been given an elaborate, offset milled structure which, on the one hand, makes the core 25% lighter and, on the other hand maintains the outstanding ski performance, both flex and torsion remain the same. A special milling finish of the full-surface Titanal Shell saves even more weight, especially in the All Mountain sector.

Burly skiReview by Redrover

I have not mounted them yet. I plan on a plate type touring binding. Similar in shape to my Big Stix 106 but with side wall construction, instead of cap, that makes them seem more burly. Also tip rocker and more camber than my Big Stix. The Big Stix are the best non-rockered powder ski I have skied on. The Rangers should be a better ski for all of the variable types of conditions you find while touring. (Posted on 4/21/2017)

I like the ski...after skiing 15 years on my skis, I though it might be time for a new pair. I wanted to go fat...106 was a big jump from my 75's.
A bit a impulse buy honestly. They are working out fine. (Posted on 2/9/2017)

A really good ski for the money. Light, easy to turn, does well in powder and hard to medium pack. I bought them last season and have used them at Winter Park, Steamboat, Copper and Snowshoe WV. For east coast super hard packed or ice, they are not my first choice but for just about everything else they have been great. (Posted on 1/24/2017)

This is just an awesome ski! I saw them at Whistler for $900+ and remembered the comment that it is a great ski for the price. Well, I would say 'an awesome' ski for the price. It turns well, floats easily in powder and is a ton of fun in the trees! It has a little chatter at high speeds on groomers, but overall one of the best purchases I have made! (Posted on 12/16/2016)
