The Fischer Ranger 108 Ti is a highly versatile 108mm waisted ski designed with touring in mind. The Ranger 108 is very lightweight and can crush powder and crud with ease since its got some pretty significant rocker in the tips. The Ti layer is a two pronged feature in that is simultaneously lightens and stiffens the ski at the same time. This ski can hold up at high speeds and can turn on a dime. Grab some Ranger Touring boots, Toss some touring bindings on there and some skins and you'll have yourself a killer all-country set up ready to attack the hill at any time. This is a whole lot of ski for a low price so make sure to spread the word to your ski buddies.

Details

Free Binding Mounting: We will mount you ski bindings for free whenever you order skis and bindings. If you order boots, too, we can adjust them so they are ready to hit the slopes right out of the box! Just be sure to fill out the mounting form that comes up after checkout.

Ideal Target Skier: West Coast All Mountain Skier: Skiers on the west coast will enjoy this ski as an all mountain, do everything model, while skiers on the east coast will find this more suitable for powder skiing, or when there is chopped up crud to be had.

Tip Rocker: This refers to the early rising of the tip to get the ski on top of the soft snow, rather than pushing through it. When the skis are held with the bases together, it will look like the tips are bent, and spread away from eachother. Tip rocker also helps skiers pivot the skis, making tight trees remarkably easy, and gives the ski a surf-like feel.

AirTec Ti Construction: The Air Tec wood core has been given an elaborate, offset milled structure which, on the one hand, makes the core 25% lighter and, on the other hand maintains the outstanding ski performance, both flex and torsion remain the same. A special milling finish of the full-surface Titanal Shell saves even more weight, especially in the All Mountain sector.

Skier Ability: Advanced to Expert: Skipping the blue runs to get to the black runs, but sometimes a little cautious when it gets very steep, or some hesitation when your buddy says, ''You just have to clear those rocks or else you're toast.''

Ultra slim shovel with carbon inlay improves maneuverability at high stability. It also looks really cool, so that's a bonus.

Sandwich Construction (SW): SW means that the sides of the skis are a vertical wall rather the the rounded Cap construction forund on most skis. Since none of the skis material needs to be exerting force maintaining shape at the edges, SW skis are stiffer than their Cap counterparts. Most people find SW skis to be damper, that is more glued to the snow, superior at high speed GS turns and top notch at busting through crud or choppy snow.

Expert Binding Choices: Some of the binding options (i.e. the Head GTO 15) available for this ski have high din ranges that start at 8 or 9. A very small percentage of skiers will be suitable for these bindings. If you know that you usually set your din at 8 or above, you are in the clear for a high din binding. Otherwise, those bindings are for EXPERT SKIERS ONLY!

Aeroshape Construction:The patented Fischer Aeroshape technology makes the tour ski much lighter and, thanks to the special core and surface construction, also far more stable. This is how a Fischer Aeroshape ski offers you better climbing performance together with improved downhill performance.

Sintered Base: The material used for the base is harder, and therefore more durable than other options (Extruded). This material should be waxed regularly for best performance.

We Have Recommended Some Bindings For You: You will notice there is a dropdown menu that says "Ski Bindings" above. These are simply a list of curated bindings we recommend will work best for this particular ski but other bindings will work as well. There are a few factors i.e. brake width, DIN range, ability level that determine an appropriate binding choice, so let us know if you need assistance.

Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.

Two days of skiing mixed snow (P/PP/G) in the Rockies so far, they handled great.
- easy to turn
- light weight
- rail to rail on groomed, no issues over 50 mph
- float up over junk with ease

Fischer makes skis better than most. (Posted on 12/20/2016)
