Head continues to progress the design of their skis year by year and the Cyclic 115 is no exception. At 115mm underfoot, the Cyclic offers exceptional powder and crud performance without losing much on the hardpack with 40% tip rocker and 60% camber. This is a directional ski best for hard charging skiers but these skis are not super stiff. They have an even flex that will hold up at high speed with tons of response in and out of turns. This is a durable, lightweight ski was designed to annihilate the powder but remain stable on the groomers as all Head skis always promise to do.

Details

Free Binding Mounting: We will mount you ski bindings for free whenever you order skis and bindings. If you order boots, too, we can adjust them so they are ready to hit the slopes right out of the box! Just be sure to fill out the mounting form that comes up after checkout.

Ideal Target Skier: Big Mountain Charger: Top speed, all the time, regardless of terrain, obstacles or children in the way, these skiers need stability on par with professional downhill racers. They are usually looking for long skis that are wide and heavy.

Ideal Target Skier: Powder Hound: If you use your sick days only when it snows 12'' or more overnight and not when you're actually sick, this ski is probably for you. Powder Hounds are on the search for deep and untouched powder, and fat skis to ski it with.

Expert Binding Choices: Some of the binding options (i.e. the Head GTO 15) available for this ski have high din ranges that start at 8 or 9. A very small percentage of skiers will be suitable for these bindings. If you know that you usually set your din at 8 or above, you are in the clear for a high din binding. Otherwise, those bindings are for EXPERT SKIERS ONLY!

Sandwich Construction (SW): SW means that the sides of the skis are a vertical wall rather the the rounded Cap construction forund on most skis. Since none of the skis material needs to be exerting force maintaining shape at the edges, SW skis are stiffer than their Cap counterparts. Most people find SW skis to be damper, that is more glued to the snow, superior at high speed GS turns and top notch at busting through crud or choppy snow.

Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.

UHM C Base: The most durable, quickest base material on the market. It requires very little maintenance and allows your skis to do what they are made to do until you decide you've hit so many rocks that it needs a tune.

Tip Rocker: This refers to the early rising of the tip to get the ski on top of the soft snow, rather than pushing through it. When the skis are held with the bases together, it will look like the tips are bent, and spread away from eachother. Tip rocker also helps skiers pivot the skis, making tight trees remarkably easy, and gives the ski a surf-like feel.

Tail Rocker: Just like Tip rocker, but in the tail, this feature allows the tails of the skis to release easier from the turn to give the skier the ability to turn the skis quicker in tight spots. It also allows skiers to dump speed by forcing the tails out and sliding sideways. The effective edge is reduced because of the tail rocker, so the skis will also be easier to control when forced to ski on the groomed slopes.

Extra Durable ABS Sidewalls: Because extra durability is never bad, right? RIGHT?!?!?!

3 Choice Mount Position : The three choices are as follows. Park Mount is where the bindings are closer to dead center on the ski and is best for freeride skiers who want to ski switch a lot of the time. Manufacturer's mount is where the makers of the ski recommend you mount the bindings (usually between park and powder mount). Finally Powder mount is the furthest back on the ski which allows for more tip length and float in powder. If you wish to get more technical on where we mount your skis, please contact customer service.

ISS Independent Suspension System: Elastomeric vibration killers located in the tip, tail and underfoot. The elastomers quiet the vibrations that are commonly associated with rockered skis. Underfoot, the vibrations are dampened to provide the skier with a smooth ride.

TNT Rocker: Tip and tail rocker combined with regular camber underfoot. This combination creates a surfy feel in powder while maintaining hard snow versatility. 40% Rocker, 60% Camber

TTS Technology: A stabilizing layer in the ski that dampens vibrations normally felt from rockered tips and tails. This unique feature to Head also adds torsional stiffness and increases performance in everything from crud to hard snow.

Product Questions

I'm Looking for an affordable back country set up for this winter. Would this ski work well with a randonee binding? If not what setup would you recommend looking into.

What would be the most recognizable/significant difference I'd notice between skiing this Head Cyclic ski and the Saloman Czar I've been skiing for the past 5 years? See my order history for more details. SW vs cap construction??? Turn Radius is 16.5 vs 40 with the Czar???
