The Head Cube 3 8 Boot is a roomy 106mm wide boot with a 70 flex which is great for skiers looking for a comfy, forgiving boot for less aggressive skiing. The Auto Walk/Ski switch really sets this boot apart from the rest and makes walking in your ski boots much easier. You might notice there are three buckles instead of four on this boot, don't be alarmed, the top buckle is much larger and provides just as much hold as the usual two. The Cube is a prime choice for beginners or intermediates who want to completely avoid those narrow, tight fitting ski boots they have heard so much about. Comfort is the key to enjoying your day of skiing right?

This chart provides a safe comfortable size that most all skiers will be able to use. If you are looking for a true skier's performance fit you may want to size down one half to one full size smaller. For most ski boots, the full (.0) size uses the same shell and liner as the half (.5) size (like, 25.0 and 25.5) and will have almost an identical fit.

Details

Replaceable Toe and Heel Pads: This is a must-have for skiers that don't live in ski in/ski out condos. When your ski tech tells you that you have to buy new boots because the soles are worn down too much, just laugh at him and tell him to order you a new set of sole plates.

Auto-Walk heel: A button in the back of this boot is engaged automatically by the heel piece of the ski binding, stiffening the boot and putting it in a 'ski stance.' When the boot is taken out of the binding, the button automatically pops back out relaxing the fit for easier walking.

EC106 last: EC106 last: The forefoot width of this shell is 106mm, but the EC last is a more advanced high volume boot than Head's other wide boots.

Micro-adjustable aluminum buckles: These aluminum buckles can be moved to adjust for size, so if the default position of the buckle and the teeth is too wide or too narrow, you can move it until it fits.

Macro adjust ladder: The tooth plate opposite the top buckles can be moved in or out for a huge range of adjustment, and to fit narrow to wide lower legs.

Easy-Entry Concept: The 'Easy-Entry Concept' is essentially an inverse shell overlap, making the boot open significantly wider at the top of the instep, making it easier to put on and take off than traditional shells.

35mm strap: Wider than average strap at the top of the boot to help keep the boot together and to give good performance while skiing.

This boot has a flex rating of 70, which is best suited for beginner to intermediate skiers. Softer boots will be more comfortable, but won't offer enough stability at higher speeds. Stiffer than 70 will give that stability, but start to get a little less comfortable.

Product Questions

Greetings,

I just purchased the INOC X Carver System Skis w/GPO 100 Bindings from your company and I absolutely love the skis. They turn easy and are silky smooth. Thank you! My only issue is that my boots, about 13 year old Tecnica boots were torture devices. I am looking for a boot that is comfortable, easier to walk in, wide enough for my 9.5EEEE feet, doesn't kill my feet, doesn't kill my wallet, and doesn't feel like I am being tortured in the Tower of London getting them off and on. Oh, and would work well with my new skis.

Do these boots fit that description? Also, is the binding on my new ski going to be compatible with the auto switch on the heel of these boots?

Thanks for being so helpful!

I recently got back into skiing. I purchased skis from Level Nine in December (the INOC X Carver) and loved my new skis. Level Nine was very helpful and shipping was very fast. On my second time out my feet really started hurting (my old boots were killing my feet) so I walked into the tech shop at White Pass (my beloved ski resort) and slammed the boots down stating that those boots will never go onto my feet again. Having high arches and very wide feet (9.5EEEE) I was a skier with special foot needs.

Back onto Level Nine's site I went, determined to get a boot that worked. I found these boots for a screaming price, noticed that they were the widest boots made and, with the confidence of previous Head purchases, bought these boots. Now, it must be said that, in the past, my high arches and wide feet made getting a standard boot on and off my foot something akin to the torchure felt by the heretics in the middle ages...however, that was behind me. These new boots are super comfy, easy to get on and off, and a delight. I put them on the first time and just walked around the house for an hour. I started watching TV and forgot they were on my feet.

I then proceeded to a local boot fitter than put in custom footbeds (high arches). I now had a boot that was comfy, skied better than any I had worn, which translated to the best skiing in my life. I ended the day pain free and, with a little mist in my eye, learned how great it was not being in pain from a sport I loved.

Thank you Level Nine for your awesome pricing, info, customer service, and shipping. Thank you also to Head for making a boot for a wide footed, high arched, solid intermediate skier like myself.

Happy skiing and if any White Pass skiers are reading this, I'll see you out there! (Posted on 2/17/2016)
