Free Binding Mounting: We will mount you ski bindings for free whenever you order skis and bindings. If you order boots, too, we can adjust them so they are ready to hit the slopes right out of the box! Just be sure to fill out the mounting form that comes up after checkout.

Ideal Target Skier: Hard Pack Racer: When maximum speed is needed for racing or just to get some wind blowing through your hair (even though you should be wearing a helmet), these guys and girls look for the stiffer and more stable models. No real need to concern yourself with off trail performance, because these skiers think of the groomed runs as being surrounded by hot lava.

Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.

Head Kers Technology: Originating in Formula 1 and putting our riders where they belong: in pole. KERS Technology works like a turbo charger that provides additional power and acceleration by stiffening the tail of the ski in outturns.

Era 3.0 Rocker/Camber: Head combines Rocker for flotation in soft snow, a progressive radius for better edge contact and grip, and shock absorption to dampen vibrations.

UHM C Base: The most durable, quickest base material on the market. It requires very little maintenance and allows your skis to do what they are made to do until you decide you've hit so many rocks that it needs a tune.

Sandwich Construction (SW): SW means that the sides of the skis are a vertical wall rather the the rounded Cap construction forund on most skis. Since none of the skis material needs to be exerting force maintaining shape at the edges, SW skis are stiffer than their Cap counterparts. Most people find SW skis to be damper, that is more glued to the snow, superior at high speed GS turns and top notch at busting through crud or choppy snow.

PRD 14 Bindings Included: This ski comes with a Head/Tyrolia PRD 14 Binding Included. It slides onto a PRD Plate that comes pre-installed on the ski and is adjustable from 255-378mm and has a DIN Range that goes from 4-14.

remarkable at speedReview by snagline
I don't always ski groomers, but when I do, I live between 30 and 50 mph when conditions and skier traffic allow, with occasional higher speed peaks. That usually means weekdays only, wide open slopes and very good visibility are prerequisites for optimum utilization of my groomer style and to get the most from the Head iMagnums.

I ski the 177s, 5' 9" tall, 190 lbs, 40 days and at least a million vert a year, expert skier, skied for over 50 years. I own and regularly ski more pairs of high-end skis than I am willing to admit. For its specific groomer purpose, the iMagnum is one of the best.

If your background is somewhat similar to mine and you are a skilled high speed carver, you will be stunned by the performance of these skis. They have no top end as far as I can tell, and they are almost as smooth as my K*****s. The iMagnums can make any turn shape you want. If you know what you are doing, the Magnums also are much more accessible and relaxing than full-on race ski, but just about as fast. And Head base structure is the best in the business, in my opinion.

However, if you are an intermediate or even advanced skier looking for a new ski as a way to improve your performance, save your money and take a few lessons. The iMagnum requires technique, strength, knowledge and skill to make it work properly. I'm sure L9 Sports has a bunch of excellent products that would be super for learning and advancing skier. Just sayin!

Summary, if you've got the juice, these skis are brilliant. Although I haven't skied the Rally, Speed or Titan, I would guess they all have similar qualities even though they are meant for specific niches. Also the longest lengths will all probably require the most skilled pilots but return the most thrilling speed performances. (Posted on 3/10/2016)
