The Monster is back from the dead! That's right, hot off the success of the Joy series skis, Head revived one of their most renowned skis, the Monster Series. These skis feature Graphene technology which reinforces the ski keeping it stiff and responsive but very lightweight at the same time. The Head Monster 88 skis also have All Ride Era 3.0 rocker so they'll hold up in soft snow and high speeds without blinking. At 88mm in the waist this 2016 Head graphene ski is primarily for the front side groomers, but will hold up just fine in the trees and moguls.

Free Binding Mounting: We will mount you ski bindings for free whenever you order skis and bindings. If you order boots, too, we can adjust them so they are ready to hit the slopes right out of the box! Just be sure to fill out the mounting form that comes up after checkout.

Era 3.0 Rocker/Camber: Head combines Rocker for flotation in soft snow, a progressive radius for better edge contact and grip, and shock absorption to dampen vibrations.

Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.

Tip Rocker: This refers to the early rising of the tip to get the ski on top of the soft snow, rather than pushing through it. When the skis are held with the bases together, it will look like the tips are bent, and spread away from eachother. Tip rocker also helps skiers pivot the skis, making tight trees remarkably easy, and gives the ski a surf-like feel.

Graphene Technology: GRAPHENE is the first crystal that is two dimensional, giving the material a unique set of properties. It is the thinnest and lightest element ever discovered by mankind. GRAPHENE is also the strongest material on the planet, stronger than diamond and 300 times stronger than steel, all in the thickness of one atom. GRAPHENE is at the center of the new JOY collection, outstanding lightness with a perfectly balanced ski and always in complete control.

Ideal Target Skier: East Coast Hardpack Lover: This is an excellent ski for East Coast skiers that ski aggressively on the hardpack while still getting off trail a bit. West Coast skiers: this is a carving ski that should only be brought out when the powder is gone and its time to rip the groomers.

Expert Binding Choices: Some of the binding options (i.e. the Head GTO 15) available for this ski have high din ranges that start at 8 or 9. A very small percentage of skiers will be suitable for these bindings. If you know that you usually set your din at 8 or above, you are in the clear for a high din binding. Otherwise, those bindings are for EXPERT SKIERS ONLY!

Speed: Very Fast: Skiing at this speed means keeping up with the best skiers on the mountain, while still maintaining control.

I have been skiing Head Monster 78,s for about 450 days now and think it is time to replace them. I am not a "fast skier" but really enjoy lots o somewhat short turns. Also I am not a PSIA skier but a PMTS trained skier. Advanced to expert level. Do you think this ski is a suitable substitute? I only ski in Colorado, in area and all conditions. Epically love powder when available

Good All Mountain SkiReview by Septigenerian Skier

I have been selecting the Head all mountain ski for much of my skiing lifetime. I choose the 88mm width because here in the central Rockies we don't often get deep powder and 88mm is easier to carve turn skis on hard packed snow. I am very pleased with my purchase experience from L9Sports. The delivered promptly and mounted the bindings according to my boot size. I would buy from L9sports again. (Posted on 4/24/2017)

Here in Iowa.. We pretty much ski on groomed ice. I had just bought Fischer progresser f19s in 177cm and love them but when we went to Breckenridge they where too narrow. So I bought these skis in 170 as a more playful all mountain alternative and let me tell you...they are awesome. I would say I am a advanced hard charging skier. They can almost carve as hard as my fischers but are wide enough for most of the big mountain. I spend hours researching and reading reviews before I buy something so I hope this review will help. Buy these skis and you will love them if you are intermediate to expert skier! (Posted on 12/31/2016)
