All your son keeps talking about is how he wants to learn to ski backwards like Joss Christensen at the Olympics last winter (and you might be getting a little nervous). The Head Residue Children's skis are twin tips (the tail end of the ski is turned up) that will offer the opportunity to get a little more creative on the mountain. Kid's skis shouldn't ever be pigeonholed into one category, since this ski will be a great choice for any ability level and terrain. The Residue also offers an alternative to the "sporty" graphics found on a lot of kid's skis today because sometimes kid's like to spice it up too!

Free Binding Mounting: We will mount you ski bindings for free whenever you order skis and bindings. If you order boots, too, we can adjust them so they are ready to hit the slopes right out of the box! Just be sure to fill out the mounting form that comes up after checkout.

Secret Stash. You have found the secret stash, home to the best deals on the net, these are the best deals from a website of great deals, insane discounts on products we are trying to move out. These products won't last long so be sure to be quick on the trigger.

Ideal Target Skier: Developing Young Skier: Anywhere from first timers to advanced youth skiers, that still have a lot to learn about skiing. They might ski fast sometimes, and have a blast, but aren't comfortable with some areas of the mountain.

AirCoat Hollow Glass Technology: Enables 40% less weight, the same or better strength, and more agility than other core fibers. Aircoat fibers are hollow enabling the component weight to be 40% less. The hollow fibers have higher compression strength and higher specific strength than any solid fibers. This combination of lighter weigth and increased strength means the ski is more agile and more responsive.

Synthetic Core: A lightweight flexible ski core designed to help skiers master turning and stay out of harms way by making the ski nimble. Juniors rarely need or want a wood core ski, though if they are racing or performing serious tricks in the park they may.

Textured Surface: Ideal for repelling wear and tear on the skis surface. Textured ski surfaces (aka snakeskin topsheet) are rough surfaces to the ski that hide or repel scratches keep your skis look new long after they are not. Originally designed for rental skis for obvious reasons, this surface is now available on a wide variety of retail skis as well since everyone likes their skis to look nice.

UHM C Base: The most durable, quickest base material on the market. It requires very little maintenance and allows your skis to do what they are made to do until you decide you've hit so many rocks that it needs a tune.

Twin tip skis: are where its at these days. Their versatility allows you to ski powder in the morning, bumps at midday, and session the park in the afternoon. The turned up tail is also optimal for skiing backwards (switch), but for most people, it just looks cool.

We Have Recommended Some Bindings For You: You will notice there is a dropdown menu that says "Ski Bindings" above. These are simply a list of curated bindings we recommend will work best for this particular ski but other bindings will work as well. There are a few factors i.e. brake width, DIN range, ability level that determine an appropriate binding choice, so let us know if you need assistance.

Park N Pipe Rocker: Tip and tail rise with regular camber underfoot. PNP gives the ski a significant amount of pop and energy for boosting tricks. 30% rocker. 70% camber.

3 Choice Mount Position : The three choices are as follows. Park Mount is where the bindings are closer to dead center on the ski and is best for freeride skiers who want to ski switch a lot of the time. Manufacturer's mount is where the makers of the ski recommend you mount the bindings (usually between park and powder mount). Finally Powder mount is the furthest back on the ski which allows for more tip length and float in powder. If you wish to get more technical on where we mount your skis, please contact customer service.

Quick Clarification: in the check boxes these are rated Advanced, but in the description it says "for kids not yet comfortable in all areas of the mountain..." I wouldn't put my 8 year old as an expert (he still has a ton to learn, obviously) but he is comfortable everywhere on a big mountain, including powder, park and trees... Are these boards limiting at all? or just fine for a very very fine young skier...

any major difference between these Head Residue skis and the Armada Bantam's? My son is 8, skis well in both the park, here in the East and also when we get "back home" to Utah each winter...

I am16 I am 5'5 and I need a pair of skis for my back yard so I can practice my ticks at home so I can get better at a park I have a huge hill and make ramps and rails all the time. Are these skis the right size for me to use in just my backyard only.

My son used these when he was 12-13 and loved them! Loved being able to go backwards so easily. He really gained confidence on these skis. Just passed them down to his younger brother who is excited to have cool looking skis. (Posted on 10/1/2016)
Great kids ski for int/advReview by Ski L'Machine
Rating
My son loves these skis. He is 8y/o and is an expert kids skier. He skis all the double black runs in Australia (which are really equal to hard black runs overseas). The ski holds a solid edge at high speeds (but they are not a race ski). Short/Medium turn radius seems really good based on his skiing. Twin tips are perfect, the surface texture is great for kids as they don't get scratched up. These skis are perfect for groomers, crud, jumps and shallow powder. We also skied them in Japan waist deep powder and as you would expect they weren't great in waist deep powder but they aren't designed for POW. I would recommend these for an int to adv/exp skier. For a beginner (particularly if very young i.e. 3-6 year olds) there are lighter and more flexible ski options, but for a kid who can ski fast/hard this skis will certainly handle a bit of speed/power and the jumps. I cannot praise level nine enough. I live in Melbourne Australia and our skis and boots arrived in record time. The on line help was great in helping us make an informed decision about what skis it buy for our kids. They were also fantastic in helping me select the right skis a week later. Will definitely use again (Posted on 6/27/2014)
