The Head Rev 70 package is a superb setup for beginners all the way up to upper intermediates in the market for skis, boots and bindings. First off, the REV 70 ski is 70mm at the waist, making it ideal for groomed runs, it does have Head's ERA 3.0 early rise so it will handle off trail just fine as well. The Dalbello Prime boots come included and are some of the most comfortable boots Dalbello has ever made, perfect for the REV 70 type of skier. Finally, the awesome Defiance D11 ski binding is included which has a din range from 3-11 and can be mounted to any boot size.

Ski poles are your friends. They help you maintain proper form and balance, as well as help you get across the flat spots. The only people that shouldn't use poles are kids that cannot parallel yet, true beginners, snowboarders, and park skiers that desperately need to look like snowboarders. So if you aren't one of these categories, you should be using poles.
Sizing poles is easy. Just use the ski pole Sizing chart to give you a good estimate of what length of poles you should be using.
Ideally, your arm should be parallel to the ground when you grasp the pole (with the tip up) below the basket.

There are cases when you can go longer or shorter than what the chart recommends:

  • If you are a bump skier, you should size down 2-8 inches.
  • If you want an aggressive stance for steeps and higher speed skiing, size down 2 inches.
  • If you are doing a lot of park skiing, size down 2-6 inches
  • If you Telemark, size down 2-6 inches
  • If you are powder skiing a lot, size up 2 inches.
  • If you are ski jousting, size up 4-12 inches

We have thousands of poles to choose from, and if we don't have your size, any of our poles are easy to cut to length.

Free Binding Mounting: We will mount you ski bindings for free whenever you order skis and bindings. If you order boots, too, we can adjust them so they are ready to hit the slopes right out of the box! Just be sure to fill out the mounting form that comes up after checkout.

Package Information: We provide complete binding adjustment to all packages purchased at no extra cost to you. After you complete checkout and payment a mounting form will popup for you to enter the skier information to go along with this purchase. If you don't know all the information required, Please fill out the form to the best of your ability.

East Coast All Mountain: A newly defined category for skis that could be generally described as eastern all mountain skis or western groomed run skis. This ski should be mostly carving on groomed runs but can handle the occasional powder and crud.

Speed: Moderate: The speed at which an intermediate skier travels, Moderate means they like to ski faster than beginners, but are never the fastest skiers on a run.

Speed: Controlled: Usually a moderate speed because of a lot of back and forth on the hill, or sticking to the lower pitch runs. Skis designed for slower skiing can still be skied more aggressively by lighter skiers (especially juniors).

Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.

Cap Construction: The topsheet of this ski drapes over the edge to form a clean and rounded finish to the side of the ski. This style of construction adds some torsional rigidity, and helps reduce topsheet chipping when the skis hit each other.

UHM C Base: The most durable, quickest base material on the market. It requires very little maintenance and allows your skis to do what they are made to do until you decide you've hit so many rocks that it needs a tune.

Era 3.0 Rocker/Camber: Head combines Rocker for flotation in soft snow, a progressive radius for better edge contact and grip, and shock absorption to dampen vibrations.

Is this a good choice for my son 19yrs? He's a big kid 230lbs, plays football, but he's a beginner skier. Also, as we all know proper boot fitting is so important, is there way to have him fitted at the store? What is your suggestion?

Great for getting back into skiingReview by pabbo

Pros: Very good set-up, Good customer service.
Cons: Buying boots without trying them on is a wildcard.

These a re good skis for the price. You could easily spend 2 or 3 times more, and you probably should if you are an expert.. I bought this package to get back into skiing after 5 years. Was only an occasional skier then and will still go 2-3 times a year now. Pleasantly surprised with how nice the package was. (Posted on 3/21/2015)
Good skis, good bootsReview by Relyt

Pros: Warm boots, smooth skis
Cons: A little narrow on the boot
The boots are great (I did spring for the upgraded boot). My only issue is that my left foot is a bit larger than my right and the boot is a bit narrow right below my ankle and it compresses the bones in my feet some (this is with a lightweight ski sock since it was in the 40s this past weekend when I went). The skis are great. They glide nicely. A bit too much of an edge for my skill level as they have a tendency to grab on the uphill ski on turns. Not an issue with the ski, but with how I ski. I went for the extra 10 bucks and got the metal buckles on my boots.. They have been more and more comfortable each time I use them.. They needed a bit of break-in time... but I'm happy with them.. they are very warm with just light socks on... I've been on the mountain about 5 times now .. just getting back into the sport.. The skis perform very well.. no surprises at all... (Posted on 12/4/2014)
