The K2 Amp 72 is an easy to control ski that will make beginner to intermediate skiers feel right at home on the slopes. This ski is very lightweight and has "Catch-Free" rocker so turning is a breeze and the occasional off-trail adventure is welcomed. Built with Cap Construction and a composite core, the Amp 72 is not only super light, but durable as well since K2 (and L9 of course) want you to have your skis for as long as possible. No matter if it's your first or tenth time ever on skis, the Amp 72 will help ease up to the next, more challenging level of skiing.

Details

Free Binding Mounting: We will mount you ski bindings for free whenever you order skis and bindings. If you order boots, too, we can adjust them so they are ready to hit the slopes right out of the box! Just be sure to fill out the mounting form that comes up after checkout.

Speed: Controlled: Usually a moderate speed because of a lot of back and forth on the hill, or sticking to the lower pitch runs. Skis designed for slower skiing can still be skied more aggressively by lighter skiers (especially juniors).

Ideal Target Skier: Casual Cruiser: Sticking mainly to the groomed runs and always keeping speed in check, a Casual Cruiser doesn't even bother with the off trail snow, moguls, jumps, etc.

K2 Catch-Free Rocker: 20% ROCKER: Easy initiation, versatility, agility, 80% CAMBER: Control, edge-hold, rebound This elevated tip and tail assures effortless initiation at slow speeds, stability throughout the turn, and a predictable release from the turn. Simply put, Catch-free Rocker provides confidence, control, and ease for developing skiers.

Composite Core: This ski features a composite core, which has a softer flex and is lighter weight than wood cores. Junior, entry level, and sometimes even women's models have this type of core to make skiing more enjoyable, and less work.

Cap Construction: The topsheet of this ski drapes over the edge to form a clean and rounded finish to the side of the ski. This style of construction adds some torsional rigidity, and helps reduce topsheet chipping when the skis hit each other.

Sintered Base: The material used for the base is harder, and therefore more durable than other options (Extruded). This material should be waxed regularly for best performance.

We Have Recommended Some Bindings For You: You will notice there is a dropdown menu that says "Ski Bindings" above. These are simply a list of curated bindings we recommend will work best for this particular ski but other bindings will work as well. There are a few factors i.e. brake width, DIN range, ability level that determine an appropriate binding choice, so let us know if you need assistance.

MOD Suspension System: High-Performance Suspension System Mod functions by absorbing vibrations and impact loads along the entire ski, providing stronger edge-hold and a higher degree of power and control. Mod is a secondary core that flexes and moves on top of the primary core, allowing the overall ski flex to be unaffected.

Great skisReview by Alvin
Rating
Being new to skiing, I decided to purchase locally where that I could have hands on and be able to ask more questions. I have had these for several weeks and ski at least 4 days a week since I work at a resort. They have impressed me a lot. They have made my learning experience a lot better than when I was using rentals. I am using them in east coast man made and groomed snow. (Posted on 1/15/2015)
