The Rossi Experience RTL ski package offers beginners and intermediates a great platform to progress their skiing. The Experience skis are fairly forgiving and have some early rise in the tips for easy turning but will hold its own at high speeds. The Defiance 11 binding is a great match for this ski, it's lightweight can adjust to a couple different boot sizes once mounted. The included boot in this package is the Dalbello Prime 6 which might win the award for most comfortable/functional boot with its 105mm last and 65 flex rating. Jump ahead of the curve by choosing this package and you'll save some money while you're at it.

Ski poles are your friends. They help you maintain proper form and balance, as well as help you get across the flat spots. The only people that shouldn't use poles are kids that cannot parallel yet, true beginners, snowboarders, and park skiers that desperately need to look like snowboarders. So if you aren't one of these categories, you should be using poles.
Sizing poles is easy. Just use the ski pole Sizing chart to give you a good estimate of what length of poles you should be using.
Ideally, your arm should be parallel to the ground when you grasp the pole (with the tip up) below the basket.

There are cases when you can go longer or shorter than what the chart recommends:

  • If you are a bump skier, you should size down 2-8 inches.
  • If you want an aggressive stance for steeps and higher speed skiing, size down 2 inches.
  • If you are doing a lot of park skiing, size down 2-6 inches
  • If you Telemark, size down 2-6 inches
  • If you are powder skiing a lot, size up 2 inches.
  • If you are ski jousting, size up 4-12 inches

We have thousands of poles to choose from, and if we don't have your size, any of our poles are easy to cut to length.

Axium 100R Features:
DIN: 3-10
Teflon AFD
Full Diagonal Toe
Boot Adjustment Range: 287-365mm
Adjustment Type: Rental/Demo tool-less adjustable Heel

Early Rise: Somewhere between rocker and traditional sits the Early Rise. This helps the tip of the ski get up in softer snow, and still maintains good edge grip and firm snow performance.

Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.

Cap Construction: The topsheet of this ski drapes over the edge to form a clean and rounded finish to the side of the ski. This style of construction adds some torsional rigidity, and helps reduce topsheet chipping when the skis hit each other.

Tip Protectors: Plastic protectors on the tip increase the durability of the skis and reduce the likelihood of a delamination. Your tips are the most likely edges to get cracked, keep 'em safe with tip protectors and your skis will last for a long long time. If the tip protectors get damaged, it is not as big a deal as if it were to happen to the actual skis themselves.

Extended Sidecut: A sidecut technology that Rossignol uses for its mostly groomer skis. When the ski is going fast and you're leaning further into your turn, more of the edge comes in contact with the snow the more extreme your angle is. This gives increased edge hold at higher speeds, while leaving the ski maneuverable at slow speeds. Pretty cool.

Square Tail: These skis have a square shaped tail, which adds stability to turns on hardpack as well as very steep terrain. Probably not a park ski, though :)

Product Questions

Product Questions

I am interested in this ski (Rossignol Experience RTL). I see that the longest length available is 142. Dumb question but is this ski intended as something between a normal ski and a "blade" (or mayve I am looking at a woman's ski?) I am looking for a ski option that suits my objective of carving rather than smearing my turns and helping stabilize my outer leg in a turn (i.e., turning right I tend to experience wobble in the left ski, vice versa turning left). Synopsis: - lower-intermediate skier - mid-40s - short (5'8") - heavier than I should be - previous knee injury - infrequent skier (compared to when I was iin my teens and 20s)

Once again, a pleasure to do business with Level Nine. We bought this set for our 11-year-old intermediate skiier. Tried them out for the first time today. They are a little heavier and longer than his previous skis, but the ease of handling this ski made the transition smooth. One run down the bunny hill and he was ready for some more challenging runs. Look good, Kid loves them, Price was great, Shipping is very fast. Happy customer! (Posted on 12/29/2014)
