Free Binding Mounting: We will mount you ski bindings for free whenever you order skis and bindings. If you order boots, too, we can adjust them so they are ready to hit the slopes right out of the box! Just be sure to fill out the mounting form that comes up after checkout.

Ideal Target Skier: Hard Pack Racer: When maximum speed is needed for racing or just to get some wind blowing through your hair (even though you should be wearing a helmet), these guys and girls look for the stiffer and more stable models. No real need to concern yourself with off trail performance, because these skiers think of the groomed runs as being surrounded by hot lava.

Rossignol Power Turn Rocker: Smooth carving performance and stability for high performance on trail skiing. There is 90% traditional camber underfoot for power and edge grip for explosive snap with 10% tip rocker for faster turn initiation.

Rossignol Axial3 Specs:
Din Range: 3.5-12
Size Range: 265-377mm
Weight: 3lbs

Sandwich Construction (SW): SW means that the sides of the skis are a vertical wall rather the the rounded Cap construction forund on most skis. Since none of the skis material needs to be exerting force maintaining shape at the edges, SW skis are stiffer than their Cap counterparts. Most people find SW skis to be damper, that is more glued to the snow, superior at high speed GS turns and top notch at busting through crud or choppy snow.

Oversized Sidecut: This sidecut design from Rossignol is an exaggerated parabola that makes turning easier and more stable. All skis nowadays are 'shaped,' but these are 'very shaped,' you could say.

Square Tail: These skis have a square shaped tail, which adds stability to turns on hardpack as well as very steep terrain. Probably not a park ski, though :)

Metal Tip Protectors: These skis have rugged tip protectors made of metal that will help fight against chipping and damage to the tips, which is both a performance and cosmetic benefit.

H Technology: The tip and tail of the ski are split so that they can move more freely, which also delivers more precise turn initiation.

VAS Complex : Titanium and aramide stringers are woven into basalt fibers which is a lighter alternative to traditional metal laminates. This technology removes vibrations, providing increased stability and dampness without added weight.

Awesome front side skisReview by Randy B
Rating
I absolutely love these skis. Turn crisply on hard pack or soft spring snow (which is what I was skiing on this March in Salt Lake and Tahoe). I was looking for a good front mountain ski and demo'd the Rossignal Pursuit 800 at Deer Valley in March and fell in love with them. I couldn't spend the $800-$1000 for a new pair so looked at the Pursuit 18 Ti model, which I believe is very similar, maybe the predecessor by a year or two. Anyway, for approximately half the price I got what I feel is a very comparable ski. Love them and got a great deal and service from Level9 Sports in SLC! (Posted on 4/14/2016)
