Big mountain extraordinaire Xavier De La Rue and Rossignol have teamed up to create the XV Magtek Board to create a tool that is ideally suited big mountain charging. This board is actually stiffer in its nose than its tail. Rossignol calls it Reverse Super Directional technology. Additionally, Rossignoll has packed Kevlar, advanced glass fiber, basalt, rocker, and magnetraction into this board to give you more. More edge grip. More stiffness for the weight. More control. This board is built to take anything the mountain throws at you.

Generic Snowboard Sizing Chart

A good rule for snowboard sizing is about chin height. A little longer for stronger or heavier than your height riders. A little shorter for beginners or lighter than your height riders. Also keep in mind if you have very small feet for your height you will probably need a shorter and thus narrower board and if you have big feet for your height you may need a longer and thus wider board for your height.

Amptek Elite Rocker: INTENSITY TECHNOLOGY: Rossignol's three award-winning and patented rocker/camber blends are each tailored to a specific riding style. AmpTek ELITE features stiffer tips and a softer waist with 60% camber between the feet for explosive pop and stability, and 40% rocker at the tips for catch-free spins and landings for total freestyle domination.

Wood Core Construction: This board sports a wood core, which helps dampen a bumpy a ride, giving the board a smoother ride. The wood core also helps maintain the camber of the board so it stays springy and lively.

Sintered 4400 Base: A blend of high-density (high speed!) sintered base technology and easy-to-tune 4400 extruded base gives the rider the best of both worlds. A tough and fast base that will only need to be tuned once per season (for most people).

ABS Sidewall: ABS provides better edge hold than other materials and construction types. It will also withstand impacts with rocks and terrain features (rails, boxes, your friend) more effectively when compared to cap style construction.

Magne Traction 7m: Snowboarding's premium edge hold technology. Magne-Traction maximizes edge grip between your feet, bringing that once unreachable "dead area" back to life for increased stability and board control. Rossignol delivers this continuous edge grip in multiple versions to satisfy every riding style. The original MAGNE-TRACTION 7M features seven deep bumps distributed along the edges for maximum edge hold from tip to tail.

Roller Tip: An industy-first, Rossignol's Roller technology features a milled core along the edges, raising the edges of the board off of the snow to varying degrees to address the needs of every riding style. TIP ROLLER raises edges 1mm off of the snow just past the contact points, directing snow around the board for increased stability at high speed, better floatation in powder, and reduced swing weight.

Reverse Super Directional: A very directional inverse flex, extremely stiff under the front foot for confident control and maximum power in demanding terrain, medium stiff under the back foot for more nimble manueverability, and with a stiff waist for increased stability at speed.

Basalt Layers: This stick sandwiches basalt around the wood core, which is lighter than metals like aluminum or titanium, but still offers extra stability and dampness.

Glass Fiber: Has greater elongation before break than carbon and comes in multiple weights and weavings, making it our #1 choice for customized flex and torsional resistance. Glass fiber also stabilizes the mechanical properties of our wood cores over time.
