Oh Canada! We have a surprise for you! Your own Canadian flag ski poles so you can represent your homeland while skiing. The Canadian flag graphic is spread across the ski poles, with the red maple leaf prominently displayed. Canadians tend to dominate winter sports (ever hear of an American NHL player?) so these are here just in time for Sochi 2014. Rock your Canadian poles with pride whether you are skiing at Tremblant, Banff, Revelstoke or Whistler, they definitely turn some heads.

Ski poles are your friends. They help you maintain proper form and balance, as well as help you get across the flat spots. The only people that shouldn't use poles are kids that cannot parallel yet, true beginners, snowboarders, and park skiers that desperately need to look like snowboarders. So if you aren't one of these categories, you should be using poles.
Sizing poles is easy. Just use the ski pole Sizing chart to give you a good estimate of what length of poles you should be using.
Ideally, your arm should be parallel to the ground when you grasp the pole (with the tip up) below the basket.

There are cases when you can go longer or shorter than what the chart recommends:

  • If you are a bump skier, you should size down 2-8 inches.
  • If you want an aggressive stance for steeps and higher speed skiing, size down 2 inches.
  • If you are doing a lot of park skiing, size down 2-6 inches
  • If you Telemark, size down 2-6 inches
  • If you are powder skiing a lot, size up 2 inches.
  • If you are ski jousting, size up 4-12 inches

We have thousands of poles to choose from, and if we don't have your size, any of our poles are easy to cut to length.

Description

Details

Easy In Strap: A velcro strap that is easy to get in and out of, and can be adjusted to fit just about any size hand/wrist.

Powder and Standard Baskets: Both are included with these poles, and can easily be switched back and forth, thanks to the threaded tip. Just unscrew and screw back on the ones you need for the day's conditions.

Canada Products: These products are primarily red and white. Represent your country.

Composite Shaft: The Shaft of this pole is made up of a fiberglass composite, which gives the pole incredible strength and flexibility. This does not have any carbon in it, so it?s a little heavier than a carbon composite pole, but very cost effective.

Sublimated Graphics: The graphics of this pole are not painted on. They are sublimated into the pole fibers (dyed then baked) so they won't just chip off like painted graphics.

OK but not greatReview by Kocho

The first impression taking the Royal Canada poles put of the box was that they are very thin and heavier than expected.

I have a pair of "rental" style Rossignol composite poles that are thicker and feel lighter, especially in terms of swing weight. Not by much, but noticeable. That is before attaching the baskets.

The baskets themselves feel heavy and don't have openings and cutouts like other baskets to lighten them up; and look like they are not very sturdy.

Being so thin, the Royal poles are somewhat more flexible than the thicker Rossi, which in turn are more flexible than aluminum poles. I also have a few pairs of cheap aluminum poles from other brands - they are all lighter and stiffer than these Royal poles. These thin fiberglass poles do not inspire enough confidence in being very strong.

I will try them soon and if I have issues with them will report back. OK at the sale price of about $20 but I think there are better options out there for the same money or a bit more. (Posted on 3/8/2016)

This is my third set of Royal shaft poles and I like them but the baskets have broken and I can't find replacements anywhere. The first time I used these one of the tip assemblies broke off too. (Posted on 2/10/2014)

This is a patriot's dream ski pole: light, thin, strong, ergonomic grip, easy-on velcro-adjustable strap, with user-swappable baskets for powder or groomers. And I got them for a song...a song that sounded like Oh, Canada! (That's the Canadian anthem, eh?) (Posted on 12/7/2013)
