These poles are pretty intense, you might not see the skeleton from this angle but trust us... he's there. Dead Heads and Phish Heads alike gravitate to this pole, even though its not made of hemp. Durability is also another high point of these poles, and they will handle abuse better than any aluminum pole out there.

Ski poles are your friends. They help you maintain proper form and balance, as well as help you get across the flat spots. The only people that shouldn't use poles are kids that cannot parallel yet, true beginners, snowboarders, and park skiers that desperately need to look like snowboarders. So if you aren't one of these categories, you should be using poles.
Sizing poles is easy. Just use the ski pole Sizing chart to give you a good estimate of what length of poles you should be using.
Ideally, your arm should be parallel to the ground when you grasp the pole (with the tip up) below the basket.

There are cases when you can go longer or shorter than what the chart recommends:

  • If you are a bump skier, you should size down 2-8 inches.
  • If you want an aggressive stance for steeps and higher speed skiing, size down 2 inches.
  • If you are doing a lot of park skiing, size down 2-6 inches
  • If you Telemark, size down 2-6 inches
  • If you are powder skiing a lot, size up 2 inches.
  • If you are ski jousting, size up 4-12 inches

We have thousands of poles to choose from, and if we don't have your size, any of our poles are easy to cut to length.

Details

Powder and Standard Baskets: Both are included with these poles, and can easily be switched back and forth, thanks to the threaded tip. Just unscrew and screw back on the ones you need for the day's conditions.

Easy In Strap: A velcro strap that is easy to get in and out of, and can be adjusted to fit just about any size hand/wrist.

Composite Shaft: The Shaft of this pole is made up of a fiberglass composite, which gives the pole incredible strength and flexibility. This does not have any carbon in it, so it?s a little heavier than a carbon composite pole, but very cost effective.

Sublimated Graphics: The graphics of this pole are not painted on. They are sublimated into the pole fibers (dyed then baked) so they won't just chip off like painted graphics.

Skeleton Composite PolesReview by CJ
Rating
Pros: Light, Flexible, Great Graphics
Cons: Maybe too flexible
Location: New York
Great poles - pole planting on hard eastern snow can make for sore wrists after a full day of skiing - these are great. Enough spring to keep from jarring but still strong enough to push off on - only problem is too flexible to push down on to release bindings. Very happy with these, can't beat the price. Pros: don't bend, light, springy
Location: New Zealand
sometimes being springy can be a negative when you need a bit of blance but on the whole i love the feeling on the spring when i plant these poles. they should last a long time as i can't bend them so all in all great poles and very cheap cheap! (Posted on 3/14/2014)

Pros: Killer graphics, comes with 2 footprints
Cons: the straps
The poles are really cool (for ski poles). Graphics rock, the hand straps are a pain to get into as they lay on top of one another. Hopefully that situation will improve with age (Posted on 4/16/2011)
