Ski poles are your friends. They help you maintain proper form and balance, as well as help you get across the flat spots. The only people that shouldn't use poles are kids that cannot parallel yet, true beginners, snowboarders, and park skiers that desperately need to look like snowboarders. So if you aren't one of these categories, you should be using poles.
Sizing poles is easy. Just use the ski pole Sizing chart to give you a good estimate of what length of poles you should be using.
Ideally, your arm should be parallel to the ground when you grasp the pole (with the tip up) below the basket.

There are cases when you can go longer or shorter than what the chart recommends:

  • If you are a bump skier, you should size down 2-8 inches.
  • If you want an aggressive stance for steeps and higher speed skiing, size down 2 inches.
  • If you are doing a lot of park skiing, size down 2-6 inches
  • If you Telemark, size down 2-6 inches
  • If you are powder skiing a lot, size up 2 inches.
  • If you are ski jousting, size up 4-12 inches

We have thousands of poles to choose from, and if we don't have your size, any of our poles are easy to cut to length.

Easy In Strap: A velcro strap that is easy to get in and out of, and can be adjusted to fit just about any size hand/wrist.

Powder and Standard Baskets: Both are included with these poles, and can easily be switched back and forth, thanks to the threaded tip. Just unscrew and screw back on the ones you need for the day's conditions.

Ice Breaker Tip: A sharp, yet durable tip doesn't slip on firm snow to get solid plants for turning and pushing along the flats. Keep in mind that they are sharp, so use caution during pole jousting matches.

USA Products: Stars and stripes, red/white/blue, whatever it is these products probably resemble an American Flag.

Interchangeable Baskets: These poles do not come with wider baskets, but they are compatible with any Goode pole basket from the last few years, so if you have powder baskets on an older set of Goodes, you can re-use them with these poles!

Composite Shaft: The Shaft of this pole is made up of a fiberglass composite, which gives the pole incredible strength and flexibility. This does not have any carbon in it, so it?s a little heavier than a carbon composite pole, but very cost effective.

The Getting Started Guide: We have curated a list of everything you will need to get into skiing. Making it easy for those who are not yet confident in their purchase!

Sublimated Graphics: The graphics of this pole are not painted on. They are sublimated into the pole fibers (dyed then baked) so they won't just chip off like painted graphics.

great pole, terrible basketReview by mike
Poles look and feel great.
Both sets of baskets broke within the 1st season of use. (Posted on 2/15/2017)
Decent polesReview by Dr. Wade
These are decent poles for the price. I love the US flag graphics. The baskets screw on and off, which is great for swapping, but the plastic is very weak and when they get cold they just break. I broke both of the smaller baskets on my brand new poles this weekend (~10 degrees C) and I was skiing in powder. (Posted on 1/19/2016)

Flex, Color, Cost, StyleReview by Johnny
I got these last christmas, and my first time on the mountain the baskets broke. I was very upset, yet as they always do, LevelNine made it right by sending me new baskets. They are truly a great company, and you should definitely buy from them. (Posted on 10/7/2015)

USA Ski PolesReview by Max
Pros: Solid and good price
Cons: None

These are fine. Lift operators like the red white and blue. How can you make bad eggs (and poles)? (Posted on 12/29/2014)
Good polesReview by Relyt
Pros: Look great, springy
Cons: Stiff straps, velcro gets stuck on things
The poles look great. 'Murica! The work well enough. Not the lightest poles or the heaviest. They are very springy, so avoid if you like stiffer poles. As others have mentioned, the velcro makes the straps stiff and difficult sometimes to get on and off. The velcro also gets stuck in things (glove velcro mostly). (Posted on 12/9/2014)
Solid, simple Review by Scott (L9 staff)
Pros: price, weight
Cons: straps
Location: SLC, UT
These are simple and solid poles. Great for the price, graphic is impeccable. The straps are thick/wide but then again I'm not a fan of pole straps to begin with. They're very easy to remove on these poles with a common phillips head screwdriver. (Posted on 7/23/2014)
Good poles.Review by Indie
Pros: Cost effective, look great, interchangeable baskets.
Cons: A bit more flexible than I prefer.
Location: Idaho
Fantastic pole for the price. (Posted on 2/16/2014)
Flag polesReview by Jeff
Pros: Great looking
Cons: Bad pole baskets
Location: Novi Mi
Love the look of the poles. The baskets are a different story. Bothe sets of baskets have already broken. (Posted on 2/14/2014)
Great PolesReview by Jenna
Pros: Sturdy and cool design
Cons: Hand straps not designed very well
Location: Salt Lake City
Good poles but the straps that go around your hands use velcro which makes them a little harder to adjust and more stiff than a normal hand strap. (Posted on 2/12/2014)

L9 polesReview by Paul
Pros: Great value
Cons: none
Location: Washington
Great poles with wrist straps that are awesome for easily getting into and out of. The poles flex on hard pole plants and save my wrists. The price is unbeatable, so buy two pairs! (Posted on 2/3/2014)
