Salomon MTN Lab AT Ski Boots 2017

SKU: 38541
This is literally one of the best fitting and lightest touring boots we've ever tried. At a 120 flex, you can really send it in the backcountry, which isn't the case with most tech touring boots because they are just too soft. The MTN Lab features Motion Flex technology with 47 degrees of fore and aft motion which ensures a natural unrestricted stride for maximum efficiency on the ascent. This 2017 Salomon ski boot is only compatible with tech touring bindings, which is perfect for backcountry skiers who use Dynafit, Marker Kingpin or any other tech bindings on their skis. Freeride skiers who need the extra support of a 120 flex but want the hike-ability of an Alpine Touring boot should consider the MTN Lab, it doesn't get much better than this!

This chart provides a safe comfortable size that most all skiers will be able to use. If you are looking for a true skier's performance fit you may want to size down one half to one full size smaller. For most ski boots, the full (.0) size uses the same shell and liner as the half (.5) size (like, 25.0 and 25.5) and will have almost an identical fit.

Details

24mm Oversize Pivot: Significantly larger than standard canting bolts, Salomon's 24mm Oversized Pivot helps align your boots for the most precise and efficient energy transfer between your boot and the ski. The larger diameter helps with wider skis since the torque on your boot is much higher.

Micro-adjustable alloy buckles: These alloy buckles can be moved to adjust for size, so if the default position of the buckle and the teeth is too wide or too narrow, you can move it until it fits.

Replaceable Toe and Heel Pads: This is a must-have for skiers that don't live in ski in/ski out condos. When your ski tech tells you that you have to buy new boots because the soles are worn down too much, just laugh at him and tell him to order you a new set of sole plates.

98mm last: Forefoot width of 98mm for racing performance, not as concerned about comfort, although modern boots do a great job of keeping their performance boots quite comfortable.

Tongue Pull: A loop of fabric at the top of the tongue helps in putting on and removing the boots. Pull it forward and to the side and your foot should slide right in.

120 Flex Rating: This boot is too stiff for beginners and even most intermediates. At this flex, the skier should be advanced to expert level, comfortable skiing at high speeds anywhere on the mountain.
