Salomon Q-85 Skis w/Z12 Bindings

SKU: 36760
The Salomon Q-85 is for those skiers want to schralp a bit of everything without skipping a beat. This is a directional ski with an early rise tail, tip rocker and camber underfoot which makes it very easy to maneuver in most snow conditions. The Q-85 is 85mm underfoot, an ideal width as an alternative to your powder skis since it isn't too narrow or wide. It will ski just about anything from groomers to light powder with ease and can handle speed if you are so inclined. The Salomon Z12 binding comes included and has a DIN of 4-12 and can adjust to any adult boot size 257-380mm.

Description

Details

,p>Salomon Utility Rocker: Salomon's most versatile rocker profile, Utility Rocker's medium tip rise guarantees great float in powder, with excellent terrain absorption, while the low camber under foot gives solid edge grip and rebound. The flat, early rise tail dramatically increases the skis maneuverability in soft snow, while maintaining directional stability for high speed charging.

Salomon Pulse Pad: A layer of rubber along the edges and in certain zones of the ski for a smoother ride and improved snow contact.

Skier Ability: Upper Intermediate to Advanced: Skiing most black diamond runs, but cautiously or at moderate speeds.

Total Edge Reinforcement: Fiber reinforcement directly on top of edges improves durability, edge grip, and shock resistance. Basically this is an added feature to prolong the life of your ski by preventing any unnecessary damage from occurring.

Extra Wide Edges: This ski employs thicker-than-average edges to hold up to the beating that you'll put them through.

Hook Free Taper: The widest point in the sidecut tapers in toward the tip earlier for less drag and hooking in powder. Swing weight is also reduced making the ski even more maneuverable in heavy or cruddy snow conditions.

Salomon Carve Zone: The traditionally cambered section of twin rocker skis, where the sidecut is focused for more power, energy and edge grip.

Ideal Target Skier: Weekend Warrior/Charger: These skiers were once upon a time ski bums, or very proficient skiers in college, then landed an internship that led to a 70 hour work week and a spouse and 2.5 kids. They are still great skiers, and ski hard every chance they get on steeps, moguls, powder... whatever they can get their hands on.

Tip Rocker: This refers to the early rising of the tip to get the ski on top of the soft snow, rather than pushing through it. When the skis are held with the bases together, it will look like the tips are bent, and spread away from eachother. Tip rocker also helps skiers pivot the skis, making tight trees remarkably easy, and gives the ski a surf-like feel.

Hybrid Cap/Sandwich Construction: This ski features Cap construction at the tip and tail for added durability and to reduce topsheet chipping, and has Sandwich constuction underfoot for greater edge hold and power through the turns. Its the best of both worlds.

Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.
