Generic Snowboard Sizing Chart

A good rule for snowboard sizing is about chin height. A little longer for stronger or heavier than your height riders. A little shorter for beginners or lighter than your height riders. Also keep in mind if you have very small feet for your height you will probably need a shorter and thus narrower board and if you have big feet for your height you may need a longer and thus wider board for your height.

Split snowboards are the backcountry touring choice for snowboarders, because boot packing up a hill (on a powder day, when you're sinking 3 feet with every step), just isn't going to work out. A splitboard such as the Salomon Split allows you to skin up a mountain in a similar fashion as a touring ski binding--and you can use the snowboard boots and bindings you already own. Then once you've reached the summit (or as high as you're going to go), you snap the two skis together to form a snowboard, and alter the positioning of the bindings from the hike position to the ride position. Then you go on shredding down the mountain. This particular Salomon splitboard model comes equipped with Voile inserts so you can use the Voile splitboard system to mount your own bindings to the board for easy climbing and reliable descent. Precut Climbing skins come included in the split snowboard price, but the Voile system does not.

Salomon Flat Out Rocker: This board is flat between feet with rocker in the tip and tail, while featuring camber under binding inserts for control.

Wood Core Construction: This board sports a wood core, which helps dampen a bumpy a ride, giving the board a smoother ride. The wood core also helps maintain the camber of the board so it stays springy and lively.

ABS Sidewall: ABS provides better edge hold than other materials and construction types. It will also withstand impacts with rocks and terrain features (rails, boxes, your friend) more effectively when compared to cap style construction.

Sintered EG Base: Engineered for a super fast glide in everything from fresh pow to sticky spring snow. Sintered material provides superior wax retention, Gallium strengthens impact resistance and the Electra finish gives a turbocharged glide. Fast and easy to maintain, the best base for speed demons.

Tapered Twin Design: What makes the Sick Stick ride so well in Pow and hardpack, is the tapered twin shape. Stance is centered within the effective edge while the tail is pulled in slightly to help with floatation.

All Mountain Edge Bevel: From detuning the tip and tail to a 1-degree edge holding tune throughout the key parts of the sidecut, back to a 2 degree bevel between the feet. This delivers the most solid edge hold with no hang-ups.

Popster Tech: Poppy Maximize the natural snap and powerful pop of wood with Popster's shaped core profile. Feels like your skateboard kicktail finally connected with your snowboard.
