The Shimano XT SM-RT86 Rotor is a quality disc brake rotor that works with all Shimano hydraulic disc brakes. This rotor utilizes ICE TECHNOLOGY to give us a rotor that dissipates heat better than the competition through the use of a 3-layer rotor, and strategically placed holes. The 3-layer rotor design sandwiches two layers of stainless steel between a layer of aluminum to suck the heat away from the braking surface. This heat reduction helps to reduce brake fad and increase power on long descents.
