About at L9

Kid's Ski Packages

L9 Sports has carefully combined sets of skis, boots, and bindings to help take the guesswork out of purchasing ski equipment. Men’s ski packages are guaranteed to work together, and get you out on the slopes in record time. Plus, if you buy a ski package with L9, we will be happy to mount your skis for you, and you will receive them ready to ski. When purchasing a ski package, you will need to consider the ability of the skier, as well as their size and the kind of skiing they hope to do with their package.

Skier Ability Level

A skier’s ability level will help to determine the length of the ski (along with their height), and the release/retention (DIN) settings of the ski bindings (click the link to learn more about DIN settings). When you purchase a ski package with L9, you will be prompted to provide the skier ability level. This is determined by a I, II, or III. A type I skier is a beginner level skier, someone who is still mastering turning and is found on the bunny hill, or green circle runs. If you’ve never skied before, you are a type I skier. A type III skier is a skier who considers themselves an expert and is able to handle most, if not anything that the mountain throws at them, including but not limited to bumps, trees, powder and speed. Any skier who does not fall under either I or III, is a type II skier.

Kids’ Snowboard Packages

L9 Sports has carefully combined sets of Kids’ Snowboards, Boots, and Bindings to help take the guesswork out of purchasing equipment. These Kids’ Snowboard Packages are guaranteed to work together, and get your child out on the slopes in record time. Plus, if you buy a kids’ snowboard package with L9, we will be happy to mount the board for you, and you will receive it ready to ride. When purchasing a kids’ snowboard package, you will need to consider the ability of the snowboarder, as well as their size and the kind of riding they hope to do with their package.

Kids’ Snowboard Bindings

Kids’ Snowboard Bindings can be adjusted using a Phillips Screwdriver in most snowboard packages. Depending on the style of riding, and whether the rider is regular (left foot in front), or goofy (right foot in front), bindings can be made to angle toward the front of the board, away from the front of the board (good for switch riding), or in any combination that feels comfortable for the rider.

Kids’ Snowboard Boots

Kids’ Snowboard boots have two major parts - a liner and a shell, although many younger children’s boots only have one part, sort of like a liner and a shell in one. This is because the limited power that they will be transferring into their boot doesn’t require two layers. Both parts have different ways to fasten them depending on the boot. Most kids’ boots use typical laces or Velcro, but there are also BOA lacing systems that use a cable connected to a dial that is easy to twist, as well as various other proprietary lacing systems. If you or your little one have a preference, make sure you check the boot description so that you will be able to get what they want.
