The lightest adult helmet certified snow helmet would be the Smith Maze. The Maze helmet features a half-shell EPS outer, Smith's lightest (and nicest) ear-pads. The colors and aesthetic styling of the Maze helmets make them a great choice for either male or female skiers. If you want the safety and peace of mind that wearing a helmet brings, but don't want to wear a bulky helmet all day, the sleek and minimal Maze is your best bet.

Smith LIFETIME Warranty: Yes, you read correctly. Smith stands by their product and will warranty any manufacturers defects for the lifespan of the product. Pretty sweet deal, especially for goggles and helmets. Check out more here: http://www.smithoptics.com/warranty.html for full details.

EPS Hard Foam: Expanded Polystyreme (EPS) is a hard foam interior designed for high impact collisions. Slightly heavier than other types of foam, but this is as safe as your noggin is going to be (even if you wear a motorcycle helmet--but that will be a LOT heavier ;) )

Air Evac2 Ventilation/Goggle Integration: A step up from the Air Evac, the Evac 2 sends warm air away from the goggles (which causes fog) and sends it through the length of the helmet. On warm days, open up the vents and the heat will evacuate from your head--on cold days, keep the vents closed and the heat will stay trapped in the helmet.

In-Mold Construction: A one time industry standard, now In-Mold construction is viewed as the highest quality lightweight construction style. Helmets made with this method will be the lightest on the market.

Snapfit SL Ear Pads: Superlight (SL) ear pads are just as warm and quick to snap in or out. Found in top end Smith models.

Safety Standards: ASTM F-2040-00: Meets the standard specifications of protective headgear for snowsports

Removable ear flaps: Soft ear flaps that can be removed for warm weather skiing, or to make the helmet feel a little wider.

CPSC Safety Standard: CPSC is the newest American safety standard for bicycling and skating, this helmet meets this new standard.

CE EN 1077: This is a European standard that has performed testing on these helmets to ensure they function as designed, and that they exceed the minimum standards for snow sports. In other words, they dropped heavy objects on the helmets, and they didn't break.

Padded Chin Strap: Thin padding under the chin prevents chafing and allows for proper fit of the helmet.

Goggle clip: Two lateral guides that keep the goggles in place, and doesn't interfere with the goggle adjustment clips.

Audio System Ready: The earpads of this helmet have zippers that allow the user to input their audio listening device of choice. Skullcandy makes some earpad specific speakers that are very nice, but really any earbuds will fit in there and pump your jamz.

Good HelmetReview by raff

Pros: Comfortable. Worked well with my I/O googles no fog
Location: canada
I am a novice skier and pruchased this helmet for use with new i/o googles. I have used it over three days, day and night. It seems well made, is comfortable to wear, kept my ears warm when it was cold, but on a nice spring day did not cook me or fog up my googles. I would defintely buy this product again. Great HelmetReview by Brian
Rating
Pros: comfortable, light, warm, good ventilation, accommodates headphones
Cons: none
This is an awesome helmet. With its zippered earpads, it is a match made in heaven with the Koss KSC75 headphones, which are less than $16 on amazon. My head has yet to be too hot, too cold, or in any way uncomfortable while wearing it. (Posted on 3/26/2013)
