Smith LIFETIME Warranty: Yes, you read correctly. Smith stands by their product and will warranty any manufacturers defects for the lifespan of the product. Pretty sweet deal, especially for goggles and helmets. Check out more here: for full details.

EPS Hard Foam: Expanded Polystyreme (EPS) is a hard foam interior designed for high impact collisions. Slightly heavier than other types of foam, but this is as safe as your noggin is going to be (even if you wear a motorcycle helmet--but that will be a LOT heavier ;) )

Air Evac2 Ventilation/Goggle Integration: A step up from the Air Evac, the Evac 2 sends warm air away from the goggles (which causes fog) and sends it through the length of the helmet. On warm days, open up the vents and the heat will evacuate from your head--on cold days, keep the vents closed and the heat will stay trapped in the helmet.

ABS Plastic Shell: ABS, short for Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene, is a lightweight, injection molded plastic that is highly durable and impact resistant.

Hybrid In-Mold Construction: Combining the lightness of In-Mold injection with the protection and ventilation of a bulkier shell. Basically, the best helmets.

Nanosilver Performance Lining: A silver coated textile fiber keeps the helmet odor free, static free and comfortable while sitting on your all season long. It can be removed and tossed into the washer as well.

Snapfit SL Ear Pads: Superlight (SL) ear pads are just as warm and quick to snap in or out. Found in top end Smith models.

Adjustable Boa Fit System: A Boa knob at the back of the helmet allows the user to adjust the size to their exact specifications.

Safety Standards: ASTM F-2040-00: Meets the standard specifications of protective headgear for snowsports

Removable ear flaps: Soft ear flaps that can be removed for warm weather skiing, or to make the helmet feel a little wider.

CPSC Safety Standard: CPSC is the newest American safety standard for bicycling and skating, this helmet meets this new standard.

CE EN 1077: This is a European standard that has performed testing on these helmets to ensure they function as designed, and that they exceed the minimum standards for snow sports. In other words, they dropped heavy objects on the helmets, and they didn't break.

Padded Chin Strap: Thin padding under the chin prevents chafing and allows for proper fit of the helmet.

Goggle clip: Two lateral guides that keep the goggles in place, and doesn't interfere with the goggle adjustment clips.

Audio System Ready: The earpads of this helmet have zippers that allow the user to input their audio listening device of choice. Skullcandy makes some earpad specific speakers that are very nice, but really any earbuds will fit in there and pump your jamz.

These skis have a wood core, but not a solid wood core. Aerating the wood core makes it lighter while still retaining much of the flex and durability of a solid wood core. This is a 'best of both worlds' type of thing!

Great helmet Review by Peter
Nice and light and my IOX goggles fit well. The venting works well and the helmet has been comfortable in both whiteout and warm conditions. Very happy with my purchase and the great service from Level 9 (Posted on 4/2/2017)
Boa system issue. Review by Rob
The helmet is lightweight and well constructed and the large size allows me to wear a liner or full mask, but the Boa system would not hold its grip and released when making the slightest movement. I sent it back to Smith for review. (Posted on 4/2/2016)

Great HelmetReview by Chad g
Excellent helmet, looks great, has robust features. The one issue I have had with it is that it hurts my ears after a day of skiing. What I did to fix was to fold the ears out, and press it against the ground (with the ears folded out), and leave it like that throughout the night. The weight of the helmet kept the ears flat. After that night, it no longer hurts my head. Recommend! (Posted on 3/16/2016)
Great HelmetReview by Pete
Light weight, good fit, warm and fits perfectly with my IOX goggles. Great product. Thanks to L9 for such quick delivery and great service. (Posted on 9/3/2015)
Mostly goodReview by Rob
The helmet is well constructed and it fights easily on the head with the adjustment knob in the back. It appears that it will be plenty warm. Con: Getting earphones in and out of the ear covers is a struggle so set up a system that you don't have to get to every day (Posted on 9/3/2015)
