The Volkl Aurena is the same ski as the RTM 75, just with a much cuter graphic directed toward ladies. This ski is a 75mm wide ski designed to tear the groomed runs apart especially with the tip rocker and XTD Progressive Technology. You'll find this ski will be quite stable in most snow conditions and even at higher speeds. The matching Marker 4Motion 10.0 bindings come included with a DIN range from 3-10 and are adjustable from 260-330mm. These 2015 Volkl Women's skis are intended for Intermediate to Advanced ladies who plan to spend most of their days on trail, but might brave some tree runs from time to time. Unfortunately we are currently sold out of the Aurena, if you are an intermediate or advanced skier check out the 2017 Volkl Yumi instead!

Free Binding Mounting: We will mount you ski bindings for free whenever you order skis and bindings. If you order boots, too, we can adjust them so they are ready to hit the slopes right out of the box! Just be sure to fill out the mounting form that comes up after checkout.

Marker 4Motion 10.0 Bindings Included : The Marker 4Motion 10.0 bindings come standard on this ski and you really couldn't ask for a better binding. It is adjustable once mounted to the ski from 270-370mm and has a DIN range that goes from 3-10. Marker's have been a household name in the binding world for years and years, and they have only gotten better!

Ideal Target Skier: Progressing Intermediate: This skier is pushing the limits of the intermediate badge, and getting off trail and figuring out how to get comfortable at higher speeds through variable terrain.

Ideal Target Skier: East Coast Hardpack Lover: This is an excellent ski for East Coast skiers that ski aggressively on the hardpack while still getting off trail a bit. West Coast skiers: this is a carving ski that should only be brought out when the powder is gone and its time to rip the groomers.

Speed: Moderate: The speed at which an intermediate skier travels, Moderate means they like to ski faster than beginners, but are never the fastest skiers on a run.

Speed: Fast: At this speed, these skiers are passing most of the others on blue square runs, and keeping up with most skiers on black diamond runs.

Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.

Cap Construction: The topsheet of this ski drapes over the edge to form a clean and rounded finish to the side of the ski. This style of construction adds some torsional rigidity, and helps reduce topsheet chipping when the skis hit each other.

Textured Surface: Ideal for repelling wear and tear on the skis surface. Textured ski surfaces (aka snakeskin topsheet) are rough surfaces to the ski that hide or repel scratches keep your skis look new long after they are not. Originally designed for rental skis for obvious reasons, this surface is now available on a wide variety of retail skis as well since everyone likes their skis to look nice.

Tip Rocker: This refers to the early rising of the tip to get the ski on top of the soft snow, rather than pushing through it. When the skis are held with the bases together, it will look like the tips are bent, and spread away from eachother. Tip rocker also helps skiers pivot the skis, making tight trees remarkably easy, and gives the ski a surf-like feel.

Tip Protectors: Plastic protectors on the tip increase the durability of the skis and reduce the likelihood of a delamination. Your tips are the most likely edges to get cracked, keep 'em safe with tip protectors and your skis will last for a long long time. If the tip protectors get damaged, it is not as big a deal as if it were to happen to the actual skis themselves.

Bio-Logic Technology: When Volkl introduced Bio-Logic, they created a completely new design paradigm focusing on performance PLUS skier comfort and well-being. By focusing on the three most important attributes of skiing: stance, geometry, and flex, they created better performing skis that reduce the stress on the leg muscles and knee joints, for less fatigue. In developing the Essenza series, they added tip rocker as well which takes Bio-Logic one step further, creating the smoothest, silkiest women's skis ever produced.

XTD Progressive Technology: This ski has a unique 3D design which stabilizes the front of the ski body and transmits forces toward the ski’s center for a comfortable ride. Tip rocker construction offers stability needed for higher speeds without making turns any less gentle to initiate. At the end of the turn the classically cambered tail provides a clean arc for the curve to follow.

Do the bindings come mounted or not mounted?

I'm an intermediate skier, sticks and likes groomers. 5'6" about 180. Take one ski trip per season and ski about 3 days. Considering Rossi Temptation 80 or Volkl Aurena, but leaning towards Aurena. Is this too much of a beginner ski for me? Don't want to outgrow Volkls.
