Volkl Pyra Complete Women's Ski Package

SKU: VFTFRWP
The Pyra women's twin tip skis are here to fulfill all of your (park and) pipe dreams. This is a true twin with a symmetrical sidecut. That means you can land and take off switch just as well as you can forward. These skis are actually really good at carving too if you're so inclined (before you dull the edges sliding rails, at least). Their wood core is super durable so they stand a good chance of standing up to the abuse you dish out to them. The Plush 4 women's ski boots from Full Tilt do indeed offer the plushest ski boot experience on the market today. Though this is the softest flexing boot in Full Tilt's line up, their three piece construction makes that flex the most progressive on the market. That means they give you even feedback so that you don't ever get the feeling of hitting a wall with your shin. The liner, however, is what really delivers the plush experience by using the softest open cell foam in combination with stiff, shape holding Intuition brand foam that molds to your foot. All of this comes together in a lightweight package that reduces fatigue for beginner through intermediate riders for which these boots are intended.

Ski poles are your friends. They help you maintain proper form and balance, as well as help you get across the flat spots. The only people that shouldn't use poles are kids that cannot parallel yet, true beginners, snowboarders, and park skiers that desperately need to look like snowboarders. So if you aren't one of these categories, you should be using poles.
Sizing poles is easy. Just use the ski pole Sizing chart to give you a good estimate of what length of poles you should be using.
Ideally, your arm should be parallel to the ground when you grasp the pole (with the tip up) below the basket.

There are cases when you can go longer or shorter than what the chart recommends:

  • If you are a bump skier, you should size down 2-8 inches.
  • If you want an aggressive stance for steeps and higher speed skiing, size down 2 inches.
  • If you are doing a lot of park skiing, size down 2-6 inches
  • If you Telemark, size down 2-6 inches
  • If you are powder skiing a lot, size up 2 inches.
  • If you are ski jousting, size up 4-12 inches

We have thousands of poles to choose from, and if we don't have your size, any of our poles are easy to cut to length.

Skis

Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.

Sidewall Construction: Full Sidewall/Sandwich skis are more rigid and great at dampening vibrations when riding at high speeds.

Tip Rocker: This refers to the early rising of the tip to get the ski on top of the soft snow, rather than pushing through it. When the skis are held with the bases together, it will look like the tips are bent, and spread away from eachother. Tip rocker also helps skiers pivot the skis, making tight trees remarkably easy, and gives the ski a surf-like feel.

Tail Rocker: Just like Tip rocker, but in the tail, this feature allows the tails of the skis to release easier from the turn to give the skier the ability to turn the skis quicker in tight spots. It also allows skiers to dump speed by forcing the tails out and sliding sideways. The effective edge is reduced because of the tail rocker, so the skis will also be easier to control when forced to ski on the groomed slopes.

Symmetric Shape: These skis is a full on twin-tips. Not a directional twin tip, or an asymmetrical twin-tip. The tip and tail are exactly identical, so you can spin and land switch, ride switch, do whatever you want in either direction.

Twin tip skis: are where its at these days. Their versatility allows you to ski powder in the morning, bumps at midday, and session the park in the afternoon. The turned up tail is also optimal for skiing backwards (switch), but for most people, it just looks cool.

Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.

Boots

102mm last: Slightly wider than average to give a great fit for most skiers. This last was designed to fit pretty much everyone, but really wide feet, or the opposite, should look for different lasts more appropriate for their foot types.

4 Flex Tongue: Soft flex – FT's most forgiving adult flex for lighter skiers looking for maximum ankle motion & comfort. You can quickly change your flex by swapping out different # flex tongues (sold separately).

Rigid Boot Board: The Rigid Boot Board provides a firm layer in the bottom of the shell maximizes responsiveness & sensitivity to the snow.

Rubber Heel and Toe: Natural rubber soles on the toe & heel for non-slip walking & hiking that can even be replaced if they wear out.

Aluminum Ladder Buckles: Durable, lightweight aluminum. Macro ladder for quick & easy memory reference and a micro twist for fine adjustment tuning.

FTE Evolution 3-Piece Shell Design: A quantum leap in ski boot design – the FTE is a new shell born from the original 3-piece DNA by constructed for those with a wider footprint.

Ribbed Tongue Design: 100% ribbed tongue enables smoother, more natural linear flex from your shin to your toe. The tongue bends like a flexible straw, never bottoming out while providing smooth rebound. No more shin bang!

Full Tilt Adjustable Flex: The boots flex is rated on a simple scale of 1-10 (10=stiffest). Change a boots flex by simply switching the tongue. (Competitors boots require permanent cutting).

Lateral Adjustment: Easy, precise lateral angle adjustment. Original & Soul shell: 12mm Influence Shell: 3mm

Forward Lean Adjustment: Tool-less forward angle adjustment. 4mm or 8mm.

Infinite Pivot: Unlike traditional designs, the rear cuff never bottoms out. It pivots infinitely forward with your calf for less shell distortion, no shin pain and more control.

Dual Material Outsoles:Constructed from a high grade polymer, the removable outsoles provide added grip and stability.

Cables: Cable closure works like a shoelace to eliminate dead spots for a smooth even pressure flex & fit.

Customizable: All parts are sold separately for unlimited personalization and repair using a standard Philips head screwdriver.

Easy On/Off: Tongue fully opens like a convertible, never blocking your foot. Slide your foot in and out easily with comfort in all temperatures.

Lightweight Design: Minimalistic 3-Piece design eliminates the need for thick heavy overlapping plastic or bolts for increased quickness & sensitivity, up to 2 lbs / 900g lighter than some alpine boots.

Wide Toe: For people with wider feet or prefer a little more wiggle room in the toe area, a thinner foam is used in the front of the liner to increase space without sacrificing control.

J-Bar: An additional J-shaped piece of foam is inserted internally on both sides of the ankle area to dramatically increase ankle hold down, to keep your feet perfectly in place for precise control.

Intuition Liners: All adult boot liners are built using authentic Intuition® closed cell foam. It is body heat activated to mold 100% to your feet and shells during use, or can be instantly heat molded by a shop in minutes for a light, warm and super comfortable fit.

Molds 100% to Feet! Full Tilt Quick-Fit liners use authentic Intuition® foam that is body heat activated to mold 100% to your feet during use, or can be instantly heat molded by a shop in minutes.
